So dramatic

Let me just start with this: Annette is DUMB. Like, capital letters dumb. Sis was harassing her own daughter over a pair of bloody panties and didn’t stop for one second to think, “Hmm… maybe this is a period?” Nope. Just vibes and ignorance. The author really wrote her like she’s allergic to common sense.

And don’t get me started on the analogies. “Snoring like a moose,” “stomping so hard the plates rattled,” “I smiled so hard my teeth hurt.” Girl, WHAT?! Who smiles so hard their TEETH hurt? That’s not even funny—it’s giving forced Facebook meme energy. My eyes rolled so hard I think I sprained my eardrums.

Meanwhile, Rhoda, Jade, Scary Mary and Jacob are the ones Carrying the ENTIRE book on their backs. While Annette is busy being a clueless mother, wife, and “friend” while worrying more about if some random man thinks she’s cute. (Spoiler: in my head she’s ugly. Inside AND outside. Sorry, not sorry.)

I only kept reading because once I start a series, I finish it. But if there’s EVER another God series with these characters, please—make them smarter. I can only take but so much buffoonery before I start rooting for the villains.

Great series

I hate the fact Annette and PeeWee are going through their such a great pair and they have such a supportive family!

I wished there would have been more positive conversation between Annette and Charlotte. Glad the Jades husband retaliated !

Glad to see a possible reconnect with Pewee and Annette.

Character

The narrated did well except she miss pronounce Rhonda name throughout the book! Love her books

Annette!!!

She seems sooo slow or naive. Like her baby has more brains than she does lol. I have no idea why or how Jade keeps getting men and serious enough to even think of marriage lol And couldn’t believe PeeWee claimed to be in love that fast. I understand trying to deep out because of Annette but with Little Leg Lizzie didn’t make no sense and so fast 🤣🤣

Another good read

I love reading her books and series she does with the characters. Usually most time I get bored reading about the same characters over and over again. Annette and Rhoada are so interesting and entertaining. I can’t wait to read next one

As usual.. good

Mary Monroe is one of the most consistent authors in the industry. Her stories are enjoyable and realistic, always featuring a compelling storyline and a few laughs. The narrator did a decent job, although I now understand that she only makes that smacking sound when describing the Jade character.

Great Narrator

The story is easy to listen to, but the Narrator, Patricia Floyd, does a great job. She can really distinguish between the different characters; has the perfect cadence, and a wonderful tone sounding voice. The story flows well and makes for a quick listen.
