I have listened to the entire series so far and the narration on this one killed me. Larkin sounds like an 80 year old woman. I tried but I couldn't get past chapter 2. Huge waste of money. I'll buy the book instead.

hate the narrator

Toby Longworth should have been the narrator. i hate everything about this guy

Good Story, and Absolutely God Awful Narration

The story is good, and when he's not doing voices- the narrator is passable, but Jesus, some of his voices are so grating and annoying that I ended up skipping the audiobook and just reading this one. I'm glad that the narrator from the earlier books seems to come back but I'm gonna skip installments and just read ones narrated by this guy

Space Marines don’t whisper!

Could not get over the goofy narration. It’s already tough when they change narrators midway through a series. But this guy is kinda bananas. All 3 space marine characters he does as whispering everything they say. And Gaunt sounds like nothing. Crazy.

Good book, bad narrator

My guess is McPherson would be a good narrator for a different book or series. For Gaunts Ghosts, he's terrible. That said, this is still Dan Abnett, and it's a good book if you can get past the narration.

Why does everyone sound wrong?

He takes everyone personality and makes sure that they sound as far from what you would expect them too sound like. Why didn’t Toby Longworth narrate this?

Bad Voice Acting, Good Story

I know this is an older voice, but its hard to distinguish between characters, scene changes and get the atmosphere right. Way better than John Banks.

Awful narrator

What a let down from the voice actor selection. Going from Tony Longworth to this was a huge disappointment. Almost unbearable to listen to.

Not sure if I liked this one

First off the performance was bad. I'm sure the reader/ actor is talented. but this was not a good pairing. This book was a slight struggle to finish as this book felt like a bridge between to better stories.

Wrong choice for narrator.

The story is great but unfortunately, the narrator just isn't suitable, Instead of a grim, gritty and dark world, the narrator turns the story into a pantomime, with almost sitcom-like delivery.
