Wade Rivers finally has what he’s always wanted, his best friend, Jason Thomas, as his boyfriend. Their first date, hopefully the first of many, starts out with a simple dinner, but Wade has a surprise in store for Jason. They end up at a haunted house exhibit for Halloween.

Wade finds out that Jason loves investigating the paranormal, but he’s not as enthused about the other attractions. When they meet up with a fellow paranormal researcher, Jimbo, their fun night gets more frightening with each room in the haunted house.

From the beginning to the end, they’ll visit every nightmare imaginable, and they’ll all find out some truths about each other they never thought would come to light.

Includes 16,933 words. Novella-length.

Story: Par for the course in this series, it's ghosts and scaries cornucopia! It was a really entertaining story of a date in a haunted house with brilliant characters. Jason and Wade were really well written and their reactions cracked me up all through the story. A fun short listen for funsies and scaries!
Narration: A perfect voice for this series! Loved the inflection and the performane a lot!

I loved this book. It was super funny. The narrator Allen Jeffries really brings this story to life . And all the antics that make you love the characters more. Wade Rivers finally get what he desires most Jason Thomas as his boyfriend. Wade takes Jason on a date. But Wade has a surprise in store that might scared the life out of Jason. What better than a haunted house? Jason loves paranormal investigation but haunted houses not so much. With their friend Jimbo joining them they are all in for a scare.

Don’t bother with this unless you’ve read/listened to Book 1 of the series. Otherwise, this short story is just a boring rambling rundown of a first date between two “ghost-hunter” guys in what seems to be a very realistic haunted house attraction. Since this was the first book in the series that I personally listened to, perhaps I would have enjoyed it more so if I had listened to the first book first!! I must admit, though, that the author did have me sometimes wondering whether the effects in the haunted house were real or in fact, just props and enactments for their scare effects… However, there is one redeeming treasure at the tail end of the book as it most definitely DID end with an interesting prelude to the next book in the series...

Wade takes Jason on a first date to a haunted house! They both love the paranormal, but Jason isn’t so keen on some of the attraction. Add in Jimbo and it’s a little crazier! Loved it!! Allen Jeffries does a great job with the narration!

I LOVED THIS SO MUCH BECAUSE THERE WAS A SURPRISE APPEARANCE WITH MY FAVORITE BOYS :) Wade, Jason, and Jimbo get meet my favorite pair of boys, Caden and Rio, when they're waiting in line at a haunted house on their first date. It was really interesting hearing Allen's voice as Caden and Rio since I got used to a different narrator but it was a nice touch ;) All of them enter the haunted house together for a scary trip as room after room is filled with everyone’s worst nightmare. I’m pretty sure I would have followed Wade and run screaming from the room after a few minutes! The fear, nervousness, and mind blowing horror was great because I didn't think Wade's voice could get that shrill LOL. The clown room was the worst and most horrifying for me. Like Wade, I hate clowns so much so this scene was nerve-wracking….ugh killer clowns! I can see Allen Jeffries dressing up as a killer zombie with his low and gravelly voice. He would make a fabulous zombie but I”m glad he’s sticking to his day job as a narrator because his voice is perfect for Jason, Wade, Dean, and Jimbo :) What a fabulous and spooky interlude before the Running Scared Crew’s next job :) Another perfect hit!
