Geek girl Elle Wittimer lives and breathes Starfield, the classic science-fiction series she grew up watching with her late father. So when she sees a cosplay contest for a new Starfield movie, she has to enter. The prize? An invitation to the ExcelsiCon Cosplay Ball and a meet-and-greet with the actor slated to play Federation Prince Carmindor in the reboot. With savings from her gig at the Magic Pumpkin food truck and her dad's old costume, Elle's determined to win - unless her stepsisters get there first.

Teen actor Darien Freeman used to live for cons - before he was famous. Now they're nothing but autographs and awkward meet-and-greets. Playing Carmindor is all he has ever wanted, but Starfield fandom has written him off as just another dumb heartthrob. As ExcelsiCon draws near, Darien feels more and more like a fake - until he meets a girl who shows him otherwise. But when she disappears at midnight, will he ever be able to find her again?

Part-romance, part-love letter to nerd culture, and all totally adorbs, Geekerella is a fairy tale for anyone who believes in the magic of fandom.

This book was just ok. My main problem was Elle. It frustrated me soo much now weak she was. And even in the end she never stood up for herself, but once. (When she stood up to Darien made me roll my eyes because it did not go with her WEAK character) Other people had to keep standing up for her. I did not like her. Darien was fine, unrealistic but I’m not listening to his for the realism ha. He was a little too cheesy for my tastes though.

really cute modern cinderella AU.

great narration.

noticed a few areas where the audio hadnt been edited, which was a shame but didn't distract too much from an otherwise well written & narrated story

cute!

Loved it. Very well done modern day Cinderella. Especially if you're a geek like me.

So much fun

A good classic story. I am not a geek and usually reimagining a classic tale is not my type of read but was looking to enjoy something romcom-ish. The story is fine but the narrators were not the best for this one. Although the female did an ok job, the male narrator make me dread the Darien parts.
I even had to rewind to listen because I was zoning out due to boring narration.

Cheesy

I enjoyed this new take on Cinderella with diverse characters in a new setting. Romantic leads as well as supporting characters are more contemporary and layered. The narrators were very good, but the audio editing could have been better. There were several times that dialogue or the narrative lines were repeated.
