This is the most toxic approach to combating narcissism that I’ve ever heard. It goes against all research done on this subject.

Misguided Advice

The basis is purely upon the authors experience on narcs. Apparently he dated mentally unstable women (with drug addiction or were recovering) to begin with and uses narcissism to avoid building skills on effective communication and boundary setting. The tone of this novel blamed the authors partners and seemed to use “narcissism” as a scapegoat for the authors lack of want or ability to also look within to break the cycle.

Author literally admits that he refused to walk away from toxic relationships in order to “learn the ways” of these “narcs” in order to win. That’s toxic. Author sounds either narcissistic himself or severely codependent being attracted to partners with previous mental issues and then blames it on them being narcissistic. Terrible read.

That not all authors on this topic is created equally and that anyone can write and publish a book
