Who knows what ascends from the Deeps...

Macey is really quite ordinary, if you ignore that she's a kelpie princess living on land. Still, her life is boring until she gets kidnapped by a man who doesn't quite know why he kidnapped her. Try and figure that one out.

Thankfully, he and his two companions are prepared to help her find out why she can't return to Earth from their house in the Mists. Now the only problem is that Macey keeps getting distracted by the three mysterious and very sexy men....

A reverse harem romance drenched in Scottish mythology.

loved it

This story was great! I felt like it was a unique story with great characters. I loved that it had a bit more heat in it that I normally see in Skye's PNR. I personally thought the collaboration was great! I look forward to reading more from this duo!

Narration was great! This was the 1st I have listened to from this narrator and was not disappointed. It was well read, entertaining and clean.

Great listen! Looking forward to book 2

A delightfully unique and steamy PNR!

I'm really enjoying all the different types of fantasy creators in this book! It's nice to see something different from vampires and werewolves. it's made for a fun and unique storyline. The characters are interesting and unique. I'm excited to get started on book two!

The narrator is amazing! His accent is so sexy and he can vary from his normal tone to a deep rumble. I'm going to have to hunt down more books that he's done!

Interesting new fantasy/paranormal RH

The storyline was interesting if at times a bit hard to follow. Personally I didn't love the voices of the narrators but I think that was more because the accents were a bit hard for me to understand at times. I did appreciate that they had accents however to fit with the story. Overall, it was a good listen and I'll definitely be listening to the next one too!

Great premise

Has a very cool fantasy premise and the narrator is a wonderful fit for this story and setting. I really wanted to like it more than I did, but overall found it “good” not “great”. For me the heroine was weak. I thought she’d start coming into her own more, but ended up liking her even less after she was so impatient with Ice when he expressed the same disbelief she had only a few chapters ago. You might have a different reaction so I’d say give it a try if the premise appeals to you.

Unique and Intriguing

This was a very interesting and unique read. I've never read anything with a kelpie before. The authors do a great job of creating this world and introducing everything. I love Macey, she's sassy, strong, and questions everything. Macey, Cam, Flint, and Jared are 4 of the 7 elemental wardens, i'm very interested to see where the story will go with all of them. The story moves at a good pace and i'm really excited for more.

At first, I wasn't sure about a male author but was quickly convinced that was the right way to go. Angus Yellowlees has a great voice to listen to and differentiated between characters well. I especially loved how he did 'The Voice' but was not a fan of how Flint was voiced.

Wow, blow away at this audiobook

I wasn’t sure on listening to a PN audiobook but wow it’s been a fascinating journey so far.

The narration is exceptional and it’s getting me fully involved in the story. And it’s rather hawt in the mating scenes. Can’t wait for the next book.

I’m wondering if this narrator goes by another name but I’m not sure. Regardless he is doing a fabulous job with this series.

Absolutely so in love with the narration

I love that the authors used mythological creatures that aren’t generally used in books. I can’t wait to see how their relationships further develop and change especially as they add more to the mix. Macey is definitely a feisty one. I’m off to start the next one now.

A unique and interesting start to the series!

Normally, I'm not a fan of a male narrator reading a book that is told from the female MCs perspective, but it did not bother me with this book. The narrator is amazing. He has a Scottish accent which added so much to the story and helped with the pronunciation of a lot of the Scottish words/phrases throughout the book. This book/series is based on Scottish mythology and focuses on the Legend of the Seven Wardens for the 7 elements (fire, wind, earth, water, air, lightning, and ice). Macey is a Kelpie princess who is "accidentally" kidnapped by Camdan. She wakes up to find that she has been transported to the house that Camdan shares with Flint and Jared. She finds out that Camdan "took" her because he felt a connection to her. We eventually find out that Camdan and Flint think that she is the warden for the Water element, Camdan is the warden for Wind, Flint for Fire, and Jared (who is an incubus) is the warden for Earth. Macey is attracted to each of the men and they all decide to begin a journey to try and learn more about legend of the Seven Wardens. This is the first book of the series, so it provides some of the background information for the series storyline and it does end with a cliffhanger. For me, this storyline is a really unique storyline and introduced me to new characters and mythology that I've never read about before. Because of the uniqueness of the story, I was interested and invested in seeing how the story was going to progress. I am planning on reading the remaining books in this series. I hope that there will be audiobooks produced for the remainder of the books in the series and that the same narrator will be used for all of the books.

Loved this paranormal RH listen!

Fantastic story and characters, I was hooked from beginning to end and can’t wait for more. Plenty of action, humor, and romance. Loved the narrator! It was my first time listening to this narrator and I certainly hope it won’t be the last. I loved listening to his performance and the different voices he used for each character. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Absolutely Amazing!!!!

"From the Deeps" reminds me why Paranormal Romance is one of my favorite genres. I'll admit, I don't usually go for reverse harems, but this one intrigued me. I was a bit hot and cold with Macey, but I loved each of the guys, Cam, Flint, and Jared. Each personality was different and distinct. Kudos to Angus Yellowlees for being an amazing narrator! The personalities he applied to each character was well done and this story got me through my day!

Such a great storyline

There is so much to take in with this book. It’s explained so well, I didn’t get lost where I find sometimes I lose the storyline in other books with so many different characters and powers. This is written so well. Angus is a new narrator to me and he delivered so well.

Narrator was amazing, great start of series

Book one in the Seven Wardens series, unique and makes you want to finish in one sitting. Macey is a Kelpie princess living as a human on land when she suddenly gets kidnapped and what follows is one giant mind blowing fantasy novel that I just could not put down. Characters are intriguing and there is growth in the story. If you enjoy fantasy paranormal RH romance novels then you so have to give this book a try I guarantee you will not regret it!

Kelpie?!

I read and listen to a lot of paranormal but this was my first Kelpie. The story had everything I liked, hot men, mystery and a strong female MC but I just didn't feel connected to the story. The narrator did an excellent job with the multitude of characters and separating their voices which helped a lot. I think in the end it was because there was so much information to process plus many scenes kept playing in her head. Which made it hard to grasp what was really happening and why. I did love how it was very unique in an already imaginative genre.

Interesting

Macey wants to be on land. In order to do so, she has to allow her powers to be locked and her brothers to come with her. While coping with this and adjusting to life on land, something happens and life as she knows it is forever altered. She discovers that she is one of the seven elementals chosen to keep the world from being destroyed.

I actually didn't hate this book. I really enjoyed it actually. I have read previous books by Skye MacKinnon and I enjoyed those very much as well. I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed them a bit more than I did this one, but I'm not here to talk about those books. I'm here to talk about this one. While I enjoyed the book very much, I have a feeling that I will not be rushing to read the rest of the series. I will probably wind up rereading this book when I do get around to reading the rest of the series though.

My biggest issue with this book was Macey. I didn't really care for her personality. I'm really hoping that this is one of those cases that she winds up having a major personality growth through the series. If not, I do not think that I will be able to stand the rest of the series. I did see potential for that happening towards the end of the book at least. Another complaint I have about the book is the instant sexual attraction thing. It's just not very realistic in my opinion. That doesn't really deter me from reading this series though.

I do recommend this book. If the reader is a fan of fantasy and end of the world type novels, this is a very ideal book for them. I do need to stress the importance that this book is very heavy with adult content and some children should probably avoid reading this material. Other than the two main issues I pointed out, I enjoyed this story very much and I do look forward to reading the rest of the series when I'm able to.
