Who knows what ascends from the Deeps...

Macey is really quite ordinary, if you ignore that she's a kelpie princess living on land. Still, her life is boring until she gets kidnapped by a man who doesn't quite know why he kidnapped her. Try and figure that one out.

Thankfully, he and his two companions are prepared to help her find out why she can't return to Earth from their house in the Mists. Now the only problem is that Macey keeps getting distracted by the three mysterious and very sexy men....

A reverse harem romance drenched in Scottish mythology.

This story was great! I felt like it was a unique story with great characters. I loved that it had a bit more heat in it that I normally see in Skye's PNR. I personally thought the collaboration was great! I look forward to reading more from this duo!

Narration was great! This was the 1st I have listened to from this narrator and was not disappointed. It was well read, entertaining and clean.

A delightfully unique and steamy PNR!

I'm really enjoying all the different types of fantasy creators in this book! It's nice to see something different from vampires and werewolves. it's made for a fun and unique storyline. The characters are interesting and unique. I'm excited to get started on book two!

The narrator is amazing! His accent is so sexy and he can vary from his normal tone to a deep rumble. I'm going to have to hunt down more books that he's done!

Interesting story, narration is fantastic!

Pretty good start to a new series. The world building wasn’t the greatest and the characters need some more background but it’s only the first book. I have a feeling the next one is going to be so much better than this one. The story itself was pretty good. Parts were a bit confusing but again, first book. I am looking forward to the next book and for us to meet lightening.

The narration was fantastic. I LOVED it!

Paranormal reverse harem with Scottish mythology

From the Deeps (Seven Wardens Book #1) Audiobook
4 stars overall, 4 stars story, 5 stars narration

Paranormal reverse harem with Scottish mythology

First, I must sing the praises of the narrator, Angus Yellowlees. His authentic Scottish accent was the perfect complement to the Scottish mythology and Scottish characters in this book, and it elevated what could have been slightly annoying dialogue into very charming dialogue. His female character voice for the heroine Macey was pleasant and believable. In addition, the narrator’s sexy voice was fantastic for the three hot men in Macy’s life and for the rest of the characters. He made a cool whispery voice for one group of paranormal people, and the villain's voice was appropriately chilling. The narrator was also great at pacing, humor, and love scenes.

Readers, beware before you buy that this 5-hour audiobook ends on a cliffhanger, and there are seven books in this completely written series. I am okay with this, but buying the entire series on audiobook would be rather expensive unless an omnibus is released.

I liked the story, but it could have been better. I loved the Scottish mythology and certain Scottish Gaelic words throughout the novel. I think it is wonderful that the heroine is a shape-shifting kelpie because I rarely see these Scottish, finned water horses in books. The love scenes were excellent: steamy, intimate, and not too frequent. The plot was enjoyable. The book was also clever and funny sometimes, such as having Macie's beloved aunt be the Loch Ness Monster, who likes to scare fishermen as a prank. I liked all three men, but I wish that Macie acted more maturely. She is 21 years old, but she has an annoying temper, and she insists on having petty grievances against these guys that she really likes. However, it was wonderful how the guys respected and appreciated Macie very much.

I recommend this to fans of paranormal reverse harem books. Thee four words that best describe this book are fun, sexy, dangerous, and Scottish. I plan on listening to Book #2, “Into the Mists” because I am quite invested in the characters and the plot. Also, I love the narrator and I plan to look up more of his audiobooks.

A unique and interesting start to the series!

Normally, I'm not a fan of a male narrator reading a book that is told from the female MCs perspective, but it did not bother me with this book. The narrator is amazing. He has a Scottish accent which added so much to the story and helped with the pronunciation of a lot of the Scottish words/phrases throughout the book. This book/series is based on Scottish mythology and focuses on the Legend of the Seven Wardens for the 7 elements (fire, wind, earth, water, air, lightning, and ice). Macey is a Kelpie princess who is "accidentally" kidnapped by Camdan. She wakes up to find that she has been transported to the house that Camdan shares with Flint and Jared. She finds out that Camdan "took" her because he felt a connection to her. We eventually find out that Camdan and Flint think that she is the warden for the Water element, Camdan is the warden for Wind, Flint for Fire, and Jared (who is an incubus) is the warden for Earth. Macey is attracted to each of the men and they all decide to begin a journey to try and learn more about legend of the Seven Wardens. This is the first book of the series, so it provides some of the background information for the series storyline and it does end with a cliffhanger. For me, this storyline is a really unique storyline and introduced me to new characters and mythology that I've never read about before. Because of the uniqueness of the story, I was interested and invested in seeing how the story was going to progress. I am planning on reading the remaining books in this series. I hope that there will be audiobooks produced for the remainder of the books in the series and that the same narrator will be used for all of the books.

Loved this paranormal RH listen!

Fantastic story and characters, I was hooked from beginning to end and can’t wait for more. Plenty of action, humor, and romance. Loved the narrator! It was my first time listening to this narrator and I certainly hope it won’t be the last. I loved listening to his performance and the different voices he used for each character. I received a free review copy of this audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.

Absolutely Amazing!!!!

"From the Deeps" reminds me why Paranormal Romance is one of my favorite genres. I'll admit, I don't usually go for reverse harems, but this one intrigued me. I was a bit hot and cold with Macey, but I loved each of the guys, Cam, Flint, and Jared. Each personality was different and distinct. Kudos to Angus Yellowlees for being an amazing narrator! The personalities he applied to each character was well done and this story got me through my day!

Such a great storyline

There is so much to take in with this book. It’s explained so well, I didn’t get lost where I find sometimes I lose the storyline in other books with so many different characters and powers. This is written so well. Angus is a new narrator to me and he delivered so well.

This story was unique and very creative, delving into mythology and creatures we don’t normally find in a RH PNR. Looking forward to more of the Seven Warden series.
The narrator Angus Yellowlees was new to me, and I thought he performed the characters very well thought out the story.

Seven Wardens Book One

Seven Wardens Book One.

Macey and her brothers are attacked in the mist surrounding their home, but when Macey wakes up she is no longer on Earth. Camdan, the man who kidnapped her, and Flint, another man in the room, tell her she is one of the Seven Wardens. Flint dramatically explains the myth when Macey seems to know nothing of it. Later, Flint escorts Jared home after finding out he is starving himself. After the initial team has been rounded up, Macey's mind is invaded by a voice that scares her more than anything before. He tells her that he is in control of one of the Wardens and that she will be his second. This sends the four initial Wardens out to find their mates.

If you're looking for a new mythological story with roots outside of Greece or Italy, this is the book for you!

Fabulous narration, loved the characters and story

How the heck have I never heard the narration of Angus Yellowlees before this book? He is amazing, his accents are spot on and he brings such life to this book. I need to hear more of him!!!

This story intrigued me. I loved the characters, slowly learning what they are and watching as they interacted. I love that they are all different, with varying levels of knowledge. The world building is great, each new place has enough detail so you know where you are but not enough to overwhelm. I thoroughly enjoyed this and would really like to know what happens next...
