Publisher's summary

New York Times and USA Today best-selling author Carrie Ann Ryan concludes her steamy contemporary stand-alone series with a secret that no one saw coming.

Nate Brady and Myra West have been keeping a secret, though not just from their group - also from each other. Getting married when they were barely adults wasn’t in the cards when they made their plans for their future. Divorcing one another amid pain and heartbreak wasn’t either.

Years have passed, wounds have scabbed over and scarred, but their anger remains. If the two can open themselves to the impossible, they might be able to take that second chance. Only they’ll also have to fight their fears, the lies between them, and the desire they thought long gone.

Except they aren’t alone in their secrets, and if they aren’t careful, they may just be taking them to their graves.

A bonus epilogue is included.

Ugh

Emma Wilder please stop talking with a high falsetto pitch in your voice.. It is difficult to hear the story with the way she goes from a normal range to a high pitch that makes my ears cringe. Her normal voice is great, but her high pitch is awful. I think the story is good. Jason Clarke does a great read. Emotion does not need to be emphasized with a high pitch cringe worthy voice, keep at your normal pitch and it will be good.

Great end to the series!

I was excited to get to Nate and Myra’s story. I had been wondering from the start why they were always at odds. They had been married in the past have keeping from their family and friends. Even though they can’t stand each other they are still always there for each other. My heart broke for these two as they did not outside forces had torn them apart and are now are trying all over again. Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder did an amazing job portraying the hurt and emotions of Nate and Myra. I really enjoyed this series from Carrie Ann Ryan that will keep you guessing and on the edge of the seat.

Loved it

This book is a standalone but if you have been reading the other books in this series you have seen glimpses of these two and wanted to know what was up with them. Now here are the answers. Don’t want to give things always but they do have a past where they were together and because of others stepping in and insecurities in the relationship, they were torn apart. Now they are in the same group if friends and have been keeping this past from them. Eventually everything comes out and the two try to find a way to be friends even with their past as they are going to be around each other due to mutual friends and family members being in relationships together. Old feelings between the two are still there and when truths come out about the past there is a slight glimmer of hope to work back to what they were. Myra’s family is not the best at all and definitely show their nastiness in this story. With the help of friends and Nates family , hopefully these two will find there happy ever after. Well done story and I truly enjoyed it

Wonderful Conclusion

This is book four of the series each book focuses on one couple so it can be read without reading the previous however in my opinion it’s better to get the whole story and start with the first book.
🌟
I’ve loved this series!! Each book is so good!! The end of the third book left us like say what?!? So I was so excited when this book released!! She’s one of my favorite authors and her books give all the feels! You’ll always get your HEA!! She’s a must if you want a romance that makes you not want to stop reading.
🌟
The Promise Me Series follows the Brady brothers whom we first saw in Wrapped in Ink. From Our First is Nate and Myra story you’ve seen them previously in the other books of the series. Myra and her friends came up with a relationship pact to try and get each one out of a dating slump none of them were fairing very well on their own. It has worked out amazing three of them have found their happily ever after but now Myra is up to bat and she’s not excited, she’s more like completely dreading it and tries to put it off. However best friends won’t let her off the hook! She’s going on her blind date if they have to drag her kicking and screaming!!
🌟
This book made me smile, laugh, swoon, gave me the feels! I love that I can set down read her books and I’m swept away from reality, I get to live in the world she created for at least a little while.
🌟
The narrators were a perfect choice for the story.

Secrets and Deception

Wow, what a spectacular ending to this series. All four of the Brady brothers have issues and secrets. All four of the pact sisters come with baggage. And yet they all manage to make it work. The secrets being kept by Nate and Myra are big old whoppers. Then add in the secrets her family is keeping from he and just WOW.

I don't want to spoil this story. Just read or listen to it. It is incredible.

Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke are the perfect pair to narrate this story of secrets and deception.

Great story and narration

From Our First is the last book in the series and is Nate and Myra’s story. I knew that these two had a past and that it had not ended well, but this story reveals just how heartbreaking and devastating it was.
This is a second chance at love story that ticked the boxes for me. One can never forget the past but you can come to terms with it and move forward. The growth in their relationship throughout this story was heart warming and if they are prepared to take a chance, they might find the happiness that has alluded them.
Myra is the last woman standing and the other women are determined that she goes out on the blind dates that she agreed too, however she is not ready and she is shocked when she begrudgingly turns up to see Nate is her date. He is equally shocked as his brother’s have set him up too. What none of them know is that Nate and Myra were once married
There were so many twists and turns in this book that I was riveted and read well into the night. From Our First was a fitting end to the series and one I enjoyed. Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke did a fabulous job with their narration.

Loved it! Absolutely amazing ending to the series!

I first read From Our First by Carrie Ann Ryan when it was published a few weeks ago and loved it. So I was excited to listen to the audio narrated by Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke. They did an absolutely amazing job bringing Nate and Myra’s story to life. I got lost in their story once again and loved it.

I have absolutely loved the women of the Promise Me series. They have been through so much and yet they are strong and determined. In the last book of the series, which can technically be read as interconnected standalones, BUT are so good and should just be read in order, we finally find out what is going on with Nate and Myra. And let me tell you, it was worth the wait. From our First by Carrie Ann Ryan is a second chance romance that was emotional and angst-filled. What secret have Nate and Myra been keeping and will they survive the aftermath?

Enemies because of the secrets, anger and hurt they hid from each other and others, can they find a way past that to see what they truly have before it’s too late? Their journey truly broke my heart. People they should have trusted let them down and now the people that matter the most to both of them have found their happily ever after. Can they learn to forgive and move forward? Both are stubborn and determined, but there is so much there if they just let themselves see it. A great ending to an amazing series. I just loved this book and series so much and highly recommend reading and/or listening!

Happy reaiding!

Sparks fly in this enemies-to-lovers romance!

I enjoyed getting to know Myra and Nate better after seeing them pop in and out of the previous books in this series. There’s a lot of deep emotion between Myra and Nate from the very first. Their history caught me completely off-guard. Throughout the other books, their enmity had already struck me as being deeper than the usual “rubbing each other the wrong way” that you often get in an enemies-to-lovers story, so it was great to finally find out more about the why of it. What I appreciate about Nate is the way he deals with the consequences of his accident, like the resulting migraines. It impacts his life, and he confronts that head-on, no ridiculous macho posturing. He isn’t too proud to admit he needs help sometimes. Love that. He’s definitely made some mistakes when it comes to Myra, understandable ones but mistakes nonetheless, and he takes responsibility for that and tries to do better, and all while being absolutely respectful of her wishes. Myra is a strong character, with the kind of strength that comes from heartbreak and overcoming obstacles. I really liked the way she was written. She isn’t perfect, but easy to relate to and sympathize with as she struggles to figure out how to deal with all that life throws at her. And boy, that’s a lot. I like the blend of romance and danger in this series, but for this final story, I’d have liked a bit more suspense or unease earlier on to lend more gravitas to the threat that comes their way so unexpectedly. I’d have liked the evil character to have been more fleshed out.
Narration: Another wonderful dual narration by Emma Wilder and Jason Clarke! Their voices mesh beautifully. Jason Clarke’s deep and warm voice never fails to captivate me, and I was 100% onboard with his interpretation of Nate. Emma Wilder did a great job conveying Myra’s vulnerable side and hidden hurts below the cooler, confident façade she shows the world. Her voice for Myra and the emotion she brought to her performance really fit the character.

Nate Brady 🤩

Mayra and Nate have been fighting all along the series. They apparently know each other from the past. I liked the revelation on their relationship, they find their balance and love finds them again. Too bad awful family interferes and not in a good way. There’s always a bit of suspense in this series, the one in this story was compelling and a bit scary. Nate and Mayra get their own blind date of course. Apparently the Bradys are also doing the same as the girls. Sending their siblings to find love. I really enjoyed this book. Narration is so good, but I am thinking the voice for the girls sounds the same from book to book. It didn’t deter me from loving it though.
