You and Your Anxious Child differentiates between separation anxiety, generalized anxiety, and social phobia, and guides parents on when and how to seek intervention. With moving case studies, such as Jon's, whose mother quit her job because his separation anxiety compelled her to stay with him full-time, this audiobook elucidates the nightmare that families can be living and helps them understand that they are not alone. Every step of the way, Albano illustrates proven therapies to manage anxiety issues in children while addressing the emotional needs of parents, too.

Dr. Ross Greene, a distinguished clinician and pioneer in the treatment of kids with social, emotional, and behavioral challenges, has worked with thousands of explosive children, and he has good news: these kids aren't attentionseeking, manipulative, or unmotivated, and their parents aren't passive, permissive disciplinarians. Rather, explosive kids are lacking some crucial skills in the domains of flexibility/adaptability, frustration tolerance, and problem solving, and they require a different approach.

Great, but consider another format
If you are interested in this book, it is because you NEED it. With that in mind, I might suggest that you will inevitably want a written or e-book version. The reason is that it is highly unlikely that EVERY chapter is relevant for the issues someone you know is dealing with. You should expect that many chapters/advice will want to be read, re-read, highlighted and/or bookmarked as reference, while others will be completely skipped.
(I listened to this entire book, but decided to order a paperback copy as well when I was only 1/3 through the listen)

Hated the narrator
Narrator would do better in fiction stories. This was not read like a nonfiction book. I couldn’t follow her narrative. Also, it seems this book is better read than listened to. I will be returning it.
