Publisher's summary

Micah is a small-town mechanic with a big-time dream. He’s found his soul mate in high school social studies teacher Coleman Pierce, but while Micah’s out and proud of it, Coleman’s closet door is closed, locked, and welded shut. Stolen nights are all they’ll ever have, unless Micah can find some way to convince Cole that coming out won’t be the end of his dreams.

Cole moved to Blueridge Junction to escape his past. He planned to make himself a new life, far from home and the betrayal he’d suffered there. He wasn’t going to make the same mistakes again, but he didn’t count on meeting Micah, or the intensity of the feelings the man arouses in him.

But Micah is out and Cole...isn’t. And while Micah definitely revs his engines, Cole isn’t going to risk his job or his newly minted future on a relationship that might not work out. When outside forces bear upon the couple, Cole is faced with a decision. Will he keep his secret and risk losing everything, including the man he loves? Or will he stand with Micah and fight for their future?

Fight for It is a male/male romance meant for ages 18+ due to language, themes, and adult scenes.

Very appropriate title

This started off hot and intense from the start and I became quickly involved in this small town romance. I love the BJ boys and their friends. Micah the local mechanic falling hard for his hookup Cole who happens to be the teacher at the local high school. They fall for each other but they have many issues to overcome to be together. This story is sad because we still have to deal with a lot of ignorant people out there and this give you so many feels on how these wonderful characters rally around each other to support their friends. The narration was good...he really kept me engaged. I really want to continue on with the series because I want all the BJ boys to find their HEA

Slow Start 🎧

In the beginning I had a tough time getting wrapped up in the story like I have with other books. It did pick up though and was really good towards the middle/end. I'm looking forward to listening to the other books in this series.
The narrator did an amazing job! 🥰 I really liked the tone of his voice and I feel like he gave an accurate impression of each characters personality! That's what actually kept my attention the most was the narration. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review

'Something About a Small Town Just Holds My Heart'

...that quote from the book captures the essence of this story. I enjoyed this first visit to Blueridge Junction and meeting the three best friends - "the BJ Boys" - at the center of the series. The main characters, mechanic Micah and schoolteacher Cole, go through a lot together as their hidden relationship grows and is made public - including overcoming homophobia and violence - and Micah's unwavering commitment and support of Cole throughout is especially heartwarming.

This was my first time listening to narrator Christopher Solon and he did a great job. He has a pleasant voice, and his character voices were distinct. I look forward to hearing his narrations of the other two books in the BJ Boys series.

Amazeballs!

This book was so many firsts for me. My first M/M romance, first A.D. Ellis book, and my first time listening to Christopher Solon. What brought me to this book to be honest was listening to the Sample audio when it was shared on a facebook group and I absolutely fell in love with Christopher's voice. His recording set up is immaculate which makes for an enjoyable listening experience (for me if the acoustics aren't just right then I will have to stop listening because I will have a migraine for days). But his talent doesn't end there, his vocal range is amazing leaving you with the impression that it's a full cast recording. Not many narrators have this skill and man I can't wait till he's recording more books! He doesn't just read, he performs, you get completely immersed in the book and finish the book feeling like you watched a movie.

Of course it's not all the narrator. This book was a perfect match up great narrator paired with an author that can paint a movie with words. This book truly opened my eyes to some of the struggles that the LGBTQ community face when trying to just live the life they want to live. My heart went out to Cole. It sucks to have to hide who you are just to conform to what society deems acceptable and to have to pick between who you are and your passion for your job. I don't feel I'm a judgmental person and pretty openminded so I didn't think these prejudices still existed. I ended up doing research after listening to this book just to find that homophobia is still a thing and as strong as ever :(. I loved that this book was story rich, the characters well developed, the sex was hot but not the main focus. It's been about a week since I finished this book and I find myself still thinking about these characters.

Sweet story

This was a really sweet story and no angst. The relationship started off as a no string, no name arrangement. Good sexy times. Great narration. Overall I recommend this book.

Narration really fits the story

This is the first time I’ve listened to Christopher Solon narrate. This is a laid back kind of story and his narration fit the characters really well.

Micah lived for the nights he spent with his “no name” hookup. He’d never had these kind of feelings before. He figured if he kept seeing the man he would eventually give in and share his name.

Cole moves to Blueridge Junction to teach and to hide. He’s very deep in the closet and as a teacher he’s already had to leave one job when it was revealed he was gay. Micah has plans that include Cole in his life forever. He just has to ease Cole out into the open.

The BJ boys are entertaining. All the characters in the book are likable (with the exception of Ed). Some drama and homophobia, but this wasn’t a heavy story. I liked it.

Cody’s “church” sounds interesting and I’m wondering what Jay’s first tattoo will be.
