Publisher's Summary

History shapes those who travel through it.

Determined to save the antiques store she has inherited from ruin after the unexplained disappearance of her parents, Sarah Lester discovers a jumbled collection of vintage postcards that leads her on a journey through time.

Unprepared for the story the postcards weave about their reclusive former owner, Sarah’s life is thrown into disarray as she is transported to Victorian London, colonial New Zealand, and to the British Raj in 19th-century India.

Sarah’s journey through time could solve the mystery of her parents’ disappearance. But one impossible question remains: What will staying in the past do to her future?

Disappointing and disorganized

I was so disappointed when I reached the end of this book. After spending hours listening to it and being confused about half of the time I was hoping the author would’ve at least wrapped everything up and explained what was happening at the end. But she didn’t. The heroine disappears at the end of the book, with no explanation, and she doesn’t explain about half the things that happened in the book. Plus the 15 postcards have nothing to do with the plot of the book. Very disappointing. I feel betrayed.

The raping of Historical artifacts for sale

I had high hopes for this one. So glad I didn't spend a credit on it. As a student of history and book lover, this seemed so promising. Basically, stealing historical artifacts is the goal of the book. It's too off putting to continue. Gads! This is supposed to be series! Perhaps the author should read, Jodi Taylor or even Diana Gabaldon for hints on time travel writing and juggling multiple storylines. A hard pass for me.

I Dunno

Not sure how I feel about this one. It sort of had a rambling quality, like the author was making it up as she wrote, with no forethought to plot or elements. The main character keeps getting sent back in time to different locations and scenarios, and I patiently waited for everything to tie together in a spectacular way, but the book ended without answering many of the big questions and even raised a few. This is the first book of a series but I’m not rushing to continue to the next. I just don’t know if I care enough.

Not entirely original but and interesting read.

As an Outlander fan from way nack I giive any time travel fiction at least a try. This one is good, though I am through the 1st of the series and have no clue as to whyand how our main character travels through time. Our heroine is likeable and capable on minute but sometimes seems like the most self involved individual ever. I havent decided if I will go on to the 2nd book. I want to know what happens, but not driven to find out.

Fascinating Story

Time travelling tales can often go awry but this is an intriguing take with vivid characters & locations. It’s fast paced and from about one third of the book I couldn’t put it down. Perfect narration too. A+

So worth the wait

I first read the boom about the time travelling Sarah Lester in 2015 and have always thought it would make a great audio book. Tracy is a fabulous narrator and brings the Kirsten’s characters and settings to life in a wonderfully, vivid way. The narration is not flat or boring but lively and keeps you interested from the first sentence. I can’t wait until book 2 comes out .

Confusing and goes nowhere

I didn’t enjoy this sadly. I’m completely stumped as to the plot points and what happened. Confusing and twee tale that goes nowhere.

Confusing.

I love time travel books & the positive reviews of this book spurred me to get it. The premise of the book is good & the narration excellent. However I found the book confusing & still have absolutely no idea of what the relation between the chapter heading postcards & the main story (which I felt ended without a satisfactory ending) is. Maybe the next book on the series will explain things though reviews of that one indicate this may not be the case.

Unusual story

This was a great find. I will be following on with the next in the series.
Despite a couple of niggles about the writing style, the story carried well, though many of the descriptions and off hand comments were extremely derogatory and make the author appear incredibly snooty and ignorant but maybe that is just supposed to be the tone of the book?

Good time travel premise but logically holey

Enjoyed the story and the characters, but in need of a good editor to point out the holes in the time travel logic. Good narration. Hope the next two are better.

Surprised!

I started this book because it was one of Audible’s ‘included’ books.
I throughly enjoyed it. The writing is beautiful - and the story really grew on me. Excellent audio.
By the end I was completely invested in Sarah and have subsequently bought the rest of the series.
Looking forward to finding out what happens next.

A hidden treasure

15 Postcards by Kirsten McKenzie was an exciting and pleasurable read. I was hooked right from the start. A real hidden treasure of characters and storyline that lasted right to the last word. I can’t wait to listen to book 2.
