Disappointing half book was a recap of Kain & Abel

I eagerly purchased this sequel to Kain and Abel. BUT the first 23 chapters (over half the book) was devoted to a condensed version of Kain and Abel, before it got onto the story of the prodigal daughter. So this story could've been told in the 6 hours that were left of the audio book.

Sounds like Siri is reading it, good story though

I enjoyed the book but the narrator sounds like a robot or the talking clock. ruined it a bit or me

OK, but not Kane and Abel

The follow up to Kane and Abel spends the first half of the book recapping that story through the eyes of Florentina, Abel's daughter and the heroine of this tale. Ultimately for me, that was more interesting than what followed. Fairly pedestrian in pace, unusually for Archer, and just not that much fun... Narration also very robotic. Overall, very average...

Average story, not as good as kane and Able.

Only average relies too much on the retelling of the original. The newer chapters might be of interest if you are interested in American politics. ...

Enjoyable if a bit over the top

What other book might you compare The Prodigal Daughter to, and why?

This book is very similar to other books by Jeffrey Archer. The story line is almost predictable - all comes right in the end. I enjoyed reading this book with all its twists and turns as Florentina, the main character, finds her way through the American Political maze.

What three words best describe Lorelei King’s voice?

Lorelei King's was just right for the storyline - a good accent which helps with setting the scene. She creates a good atmosphere and adds to the quality of the story.

Would have preferred a non American voice but I got used to it.
