Publisher's Summary

From the New York Times and internationally best-selling author of The Little Paris Bookshop, an extraordinary new novel about self-discovery, second chances, and finding true love.

Marianne is stuck in a loveless, unhappy marriage. After 41 years she has reached her limit, and one evening in Paris she decides to take action. Following a dramatic moment on the banks of the Seine, Marianne leaves her life behind and sets out for the Brittany coast.

There she meets a cast of colorful and unforgettable locals who surprise her with their warm welcome and the natural ease they all seem to have, taking pleasure in life's small moments. These new friends help Marianne rediscover parts of herself that she has long forgotten, including a special gift for empathy and healing. And when she finds love with a handsome artist, Marianne is forever changed.

With all the buoyant charm that made The Little Paris Bookshop a beloved best seller, The Little French Bistro is a tale of second chances and a delightful escape to the joys of life in France.

Disappointing

Didn't like the story. The narrator's accents were difficult to understand and confusing with the characters. Totally lacked the charm of Bookshop novel. I'm returning this one.

Annoying, unreal plot turns

George writes pretty well about a woman awakening but doesn’t let the powerful experiences stick w/ this character. Mariannea’s character falls into a hole over & over. That invalidates the strength she’s already shone. Annoying and tedious. This is the last of her books I’ll listen to.

Sap and romance

Very predictable romance novel. Nothing there really.
The romance writing was even boring and sappy.

Dont' give up

Although this book has a pretty depressing beginning, it really is worth the wait to get into the renaissance of the main character. Supporting characters also very complex and intriguing. Really enjoyed this book, once I got into it!

I LOVED it!

I LOVED hearing the appropriate dialect and beautiful interpretation of the story from the narrator. I enjoyed the story and open journey of the main character from death to a return to love. I especially enjoyed the Spiritual aspects. ♡

A meanduring plot but overall a nice story

The reader was quite good and brought all the characters to life. The weaving of Druids & fantasy and white witchcraft with in the plot made it less enjoyable for me, but I think others might find that part compelling.

Finding your true self

Loved the way the story moved from so hopeless to a transformation of love and fulfilled dreams and deep love.
