Minny finally finds a position working for someone too new to town to know her reputation. But her new boss has secrets of her own.

Seemingly as different from one another as can be, these women will nonetheless come together for a clandestine project that will put them all at risk. And why? Because they are suffocating within the lines that define their town and their times. And sometimes lines are made to be crossed.

Simple amazing story and narration

I love an opportunity to learn while becoming absorbed in the story and the characters. The Help is a sad, inspiring and enriching story. The narration will have you hearing the character's voices long after the book has ended, all the while, learning more about our nation's trying civil rights movement. I highly recommend The Help.

I truly enjoyed it!

What made the experience of listening to The Help the most enjoyable?

I am a fast reader, and it is hard for me to slow down and let the story flow. I listened in my car commuting to work, and concentrating on listening and driving slowed me down just enough to make it easier to enjoy the story.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Minnie is my favorite, because she reminds me of myself. I have learned over the years to guard my tongue, but it was not always so.

Which scene was your favorite?

I have no favorite scene.

Who was the most memorable character of The Help and why?

I think they all are memorable in their own way.

Any additional comments?

The only reason I didn't give the book 5 stars is that I was disappointed by the ending. It just seemed slapdash to me, after the care that was taken with the book as a whole.

The Help

I absolutely loved this Audiobook. The different voice actresses each did an excellent job in their readings. The storyline was engaging and I couldn't stop listening to it. I would recommend this book for all types of readers. Wonderful story!

Amazing!

Not only is the story incredible, the writing superb, but it was so well read. It was an amazing performance!

This one is the best!!

This is one of the best books ever. And the voices that read it are terrific. I had to go buy the book and while I was reading it............I could hear these voices in my head. Incredible. And the story is fantastic. You will laugh, cry and sigh..........it's amazing. I will listen again and again.

Loved It!

I bought this book because of the rating and other reviews. I was not disappointed. The voices were perfect and added a lot to the audiobook. The story was far more appealing than I thought it could be. By the end, I was literally on the edge of my seat.

You just have to hear it to understand. I enjoyed it more listening to it than I ever could have reading it myself!
