Much Better than Her Last Book

I enjoyed this latest book by Fannie Flagg. It was so much better than her last book
":The Whole Towns Talking" which I couldn't even finish.
There are some really colorful and endearing Characters in Whistle Stop Alabama.
Two things I did not enjoy was the disjointed jumping back and forth willy nilly of chapters
from 1930" to 1970" then back to the 40's and on to the 90"s then back to the 30's etc.
The Other thing I didn't appreciate was the swearing and language .It was quite unnecessary and
and detracted from the quality of the story. Despite these reservations it was a good read.
My Favorite Fannie Flagg story remains "The Redbird Christmas"

Fannie Flagg never disappoints! I have loved every one of her books and this was no exception. Now I have to re-read Fried Green Tomatoes!

Sweet ending

I loved fried green tomatoes as a teen. It was so intriguing and lovable. This book is a perfect ending g to that wonderful story. Full circle ending.

I LOVED this book!

I wanted a happy, feel good listen and this fit the bill. I laughed out loud over and over! Once you get to know the characters, you’ll fall in love with them all! The beginning is a bit slow, but trust me, you’ll love the plot very soon!

Loved it!

I loved the Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe story! I have watched the movie repeatedly over the years. When in Georgia, I went to Juliette where it was filmed and had fried green tomatoes at the cafe there. BBQ too!😂 What a lovely continuation and great escape especially during COVID. Thank you Fanny!

Just the kind of read I needed today. Ms. Flagg took me into the lives of the characters and made me feel like part of their community. Ten stars for this one!

The colorful characters.

This was a great read. I loved how the story went back and forth from the 1930s to the 1980s and onward. I appreciated how the lives of ordinary people were shaped and the difference they made in each other's lives.
Evelyn Couch was inspired and changed by her friendship with Nini, and in that, She blessed a community with her unique gifts. Even more so she blessed
Ruthie and Bud with her friendship and generosity.
Kindness, no matter how big or small can change the trajectory of a persons life and legacy. 

Absolutely delightful!

I recently watched Fried Green Tomatoes and remembered why it was one of my favorite movies, so when I saw this on sale, buying it was a no-brainer. I loved it all, start to finish. Fannie Flagg is a much better voice actor than most authors. Come back to Whistlestop. You’ll enjoy the ride.

The perfect feel good

Fannie Flagg does it again in bringing to life delightful characters that just make you wanna move to the gracious South. I can never get enough of her wit and charm that comes through in each one of the delightful people we meet in her stories. She so cleverly ties together the people in this book over time and foreshadows enough to make you cheering for the next happy thing that comes along, even if it means saying good bye to dear people that we love. I feel like I’m more prepared to die myself now. The worst part is that each of her books eventually has to end.
