Lesbian Age Gap Love

Alice and Miranda are law partners; Miranda has to practically force Alice to go on Holiday to her villa in the south of Portugal. Then Miranda's daughter Joy decides that she needs a short vacation. Uptight Alice meets hedonistic Joy, conflict ensues, lust follows, lust so strong that it must be satisfied.
Put that way it sounds simple but aren't all stories pretty simple when put in broad outline. The writing is well done and there are fewer of the contrived breakups and multiple cliches that litter many american romances. The natural problems of a relationship between a fifty year old and their friend and business partner's thirty year old daughter are explored as well as a couple of surprises. I'm not at all certain that this selection deserved five stars but I liked the fact that many of the genre's usual errors were avoided enough to raise it's ranking to the top number.

Wonderful sort of "coming of age" tale of self discovery at mid-life. Love this author.

A Fabulous Novel! Great Listen!

Seasons of Love by Harper Bliss is a nicely written romance, in which Alice and Joy, two women who are in two different seasons of their lives fall in love. This is a story of reflection, love, laughs, age, and friendship and it shows that love can happen at any age.
Carmen Rose, the narrator, does a great job narrating the novel. The book is written from Alice’s point of view and I feel that Carmen nailed Alice’s voice. She has a lovely British accent that fits the characters perfectly.

I wholeheartedly recommend this (audio) book.

Wow the Narrator nailed it!!!!!!

This was such a great book.
The story line was full of emotions and exciting moments. Alice struggled letting go of her prudish behavior. her "stick up her but ". Joy being a bit immature, brought light in to Alice's life the moment they met.
As I followed their story I realized just how hard it might be for many women of the older generation to come to terms with their sexuality . How hard it can be to let go and just be happy when you have spent a life time ignoring your own needs.
Harper did such a great job painting a picture of how true love has no knowledge of Age difference or diversify. This is an amazing coming out story for anyone.

Harper Bliss.... Best yet....

I always enjoy books by Harper Bliss..and I do think this one is outstanding...for me probably her best. The characters are believable, intelligent and sympathetic.... The narrator is wonderful.. She can switch from character to character by using slight nuances in her voice.... I hope more of Bliss's books go on the audible format but I would prefer it if the narrators are in character to the stories told.. I note at least one of Bliss's books set in Australia has an American narrator and it spoils it for me ..it doesn't ring 'true' at all..... it makes it an audible book I would never buy.. However, 'Seasons of Love' is a winner...in both formats

Joy is a Puma!

Overall, well written, it's refreshing to have a cute story of a Cougar and a Puma falling in love. The sex was really good 😆, I throughly enjoyed it.

Different take on f/f relationship

Most f/f novels feature twenty something couples. There are a few that don't, and this one focus on a f/f relationship where there is a large age gap between the two woman. There are many of insights in the book that relating this difficulty and how it affects them getting together. The problem is aggravated by the fact that Alice has fallen for the young Joy, who happens to be the daughter of Alice's business partner and friend.

On the basis of above that's why I give it such a high rating. There are a couple of things which means I didn't score it all five. First, in places the dialogue is not natural and almost narrative. Second, is some sentences should have ended before they did. Meaning, extra information is tagged on which is not needed, since its already stated, or obvious. And last, the narration is very formative, it does fit with Alice's character, but I would have prefered the narrator to be more natural, and less lawyer like. So, please listen to a sample first. These points are minor, but I make them just on the basis of the writer, or narrator considering them, rather then discouraging someone purchasing the audiobook. It's well worth a listen!
