Publisher's summary

Sometimes what you’re running from is exactly what you need.

Olivia Chevalier is perfectly happy living a quiet life of solitude with her two cats in the tempestuous countryside of Brittany. Olivia’s peace is disrupted when heart-breaker extraordinaire Marie Dievart moves in to the holiday home next door after an event at work makes her flee her everyday life.

Olivia hates having a neighbor and Marie is put off by Olivia’s cranky ways. But maybe these two women have more in common than they first believe.

Best-selling lesbian romance author Harper Bliss brings you a slow-burn opposites-attract story about the power of connection and opening yourself up to the possibility of love.

The depth

I am one of those readers-listeners who needs the depth of a story like this-one of reflection and thought provoking…it is now one of favorites.

Beautiful story

I honestly didn’t like Marie because of how she was in French kissing, but seeing her character in the book made me understand her more. I saw myself a lot in Olivia, reclusive and all. Abby Craden is such an outstanding narrator. This book was written well and the character development was sweet. 🥹

34 Books

Miss Bliss, Thank you once again for writing another story. I will say I rather enjoyed this one but I have said about all of them. Pairing you and the amazing Abby Craden or the incredible Angela Dawe is always a winning combination. Thank you for all 34 and looking forward to number 35.

Excellent!!

As always, another heartfelt and profound journey shared!! The book gave us an insight into two familiar perspectives. Most of us experience a version of these women from time to time and they were illustrated beautifully. Both characters had their moments of annoyance but were overall believable. Considering their age and the life experience, the story was well done!!

Exceptional read.

Personal insight, growth, love, lust self-awareness and plenty of dry humor makes this more than just a great read.

Beautiful book!

Harper Bliss writes wonderful books, but I especially love when her protagonists are more mature. These two MC are so different but fit together so amazingly well. Ms. Craden was perfect! Definitely recommend this book.

Brilliant

I have read almost all of HBs novels. I have many all time favorites and this story has definitely made it as one of my top five favorites. So well-written. I loved both characters, Olivia Chevalier and Marie Dievart, although Marie was very arrogant at times but it wasn't a turn off.
Simply put, I thought this was a brilliant read/listen. Abby Craden did an excellent job narrating. I just love her as a narrator.

Not my favorite but good

I admit I was so close to not finishing this book. Olivia was too much for me to handle. The constant negativity. " I don't do that," I'm not changing for anyone, etc. Almost the whole book I'm yelling "how do you expect to be in a relationship if your not willing to compromise"!!Never have I read or listened to a book when the main character irritated me the entire book, but I like Maries character so I surged forward. Abby Craden of course was A plus narrator. The book was well written as always with Harper Bliss and I think it will be well received, just be prepare to be irritated.

Not the usual

This novel did not grab me as much as some prior Harper Bliss novels. I agree that it was very introspective, but it still did not leave me with a lasting impression of the characters, or an emotional attachment to either of them. I may have had a chuckle or two, but it certainly wasn’t overwhelmingly funny, and it did not bring me to tears at any point. On the other hand Abby Craden’s performance was stellar. If I hadn’t gotten this on audiobook, I may have stopped reading well before the end. My suggestion would be to try some of Harbor Bliss’s earlier stand alone works first.
