Publisher's Summary

Henry Donner had heard of people avoiding a flight because of premonitions of doom, but he never suspected that the opposite may also be true: some people are drawn to a doomed plane because deep down, they hunger for the end. Worse, it may be their collective, suicidal will that makes it happen. Now, only as redeye Flight 290 lifts off does Donner realize the truth: the airliner's final destination isn't New York, but oblivion, and he's the only one who can do anything about it - if, that is, he can get past the demonic forces on board to watch it happen.

I was pleasantly surprised how the story played out. This book would definitely be worth a credit. I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.

    "Great narration!"

Really enjoyed the story and the narration by Steve White and Jeannie Lin. A nice listen for a shorter road trip.

    "Perfect for Twilight Zone fans."

If your intuition tells you not to get on a particular flight, listen to it! This is an unusual and well told story with a surprise ending.

I'm retired USAF and fully retired with a lot of time to read now. Read my whole life so thought I'd give some of that knowledge back.

    "Never Fly a Redeye"

“This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.”

I love plot twists all through out the book. This one had my head spinning with all the twists. Loved it! Why you have premonitions and stick to them should always be your guide. If not sure, then don't.

Characters were extremely developed and worth listening to. If you want a great read that isn't very long, this will definitely fulfill your itch.

    "Interesting read"

This was an interesting concept, with a neat performance. The interplay between the two narrator voices - both very engaging actors - made listening to it more dramatic.
The story is less about a plane trip than something more metaphysical, and I'm not sure I or the author ever decided whether it was a thriller or psychological sci-Fi. But I enjoyed it.

Great novella about redemption and forgiveness. Not a religious story but a great lesson in the power of self forgiveness and never losing hope.

    "Definately a Must Read!!!"

    G. Norman Lippert did an amazing job with this novella. From beginning to end, it is full of suspense & intrigue. The story has an excellent plot that has some unexpected twists that develop throughout. This book is written in such a way that it draws you in and captures you and allows you to suspend reality and become part of this story. Quite a difficult task to do that with writing but G. Norman Lippert is able to do so by weaving a story like none other. The characters are very well written and developed as well.

For Narration, Steve White & Jeannie Lin were an excellent pair to add their voices to this book. Both have great tone, inflection and pace. They narrate the book perfectly and use their voices to add to the suspense and thrills of the story. Both delivered amazing performances!

    Story
""I wanted to be an astronaut""

Have you ever sat in the airport waiting area, looking around at the other passengers about to travel with you on the flight? Have you ever had that sinking feeling, that something wasn't quite right? Henry Donner is a man full of remorse over the death of his wife some months before. He is leaving for New York, a job interview and, he hopes, a fresh start. But something feels wrong. This beautifully written and atmospheric story captures his fears exactly, then flies onwards into a tale more than worthy of the Twilight Zone.
The production is perfectly executed, with the excellent narration of Steve White recounting Donner's observations and story whilst Jeannie Lin provides the varied female voices throughout. There is also the tiniest hint of music, not intrusive but heightening the tension at beginning and end.
Without the free gift of a copy of this book, via Audiobook Boom, sent to me in exchange for an honest review, I might never have discovered this author. Thank you Red Eye is a joy to hear. I have never, previously, read any of Norman Lipper's work but will definitely be seeking out more now. A definite recommendation to all who enjoy well crafted ideas with visuals which will linger long after the book is finished.
But probably best not taken along as your in flight reading.

    "Not what you might expect"
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

This turns out to be somewhat of a spiritual offering ( I don't want to be more of a spoiler than that ) so I suppose the listener would need to be "into that sort of thing".

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

The actual descriptive middle section of the book was fascinating, as was the conclusion. There were no totally dull or uninteresting parts.

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes, very much so. Well done, esp. for a 2 voice story.

Do you think Redeye needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

No, it is complete unto itself.

“This audiobook was given by the author, narrator, or publisher at no cost in exchange for an unbiased review via Audiobook Boom.”

This story set in the 70's, is right out of either Twilight Zone or maybe Alfred Hitchcock Presents. The plane is going to the passengers final destination or is it. One man must figure it out.Unexpected ending, all I can say is WOW!!!!!!!

The narration was well done. The characters were well portrayed.
