Publisher's Summary

William Lowell Kane and Abel Rosnovski, one the son of a Boston millionaire, the other a penniless polish immigrant-born on the same day near the turn of the century on opposite sides of the world - are brought together by fate and the quest of a dream. Two men - ambitious, powerful, ruthless - are locked in a relentless struggle to build an empire, fueled by their all-consuming hatred. Over 60 years and three generations, through war, marriage, fortune, and disaster, Kane and Abel battle for the success and triumph that only one man can have...

Well worth the read. Archer does not disappoint. Within a week of reading some books you have to think hard to remember what they were about. You will never forget Kane and Abel.

    Story
    "More 2Oth Century Drama"
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

If you enjoyed The Clifton Cronicles, you will enjoy this. A well planned journey through the 20th century. compelling story and well read.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Kane and Abel?

The Kane and Abel meet on the battlefield during WW2.

What does Jason Culp bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

He has a great ability to change accents and tones to clearly differentiate between characters.

If you could rename Kane and Abel, what would you call it?

    Long Journey

    Story
"Okay Story; I expect better; too many F-bombs"
What made the experience of listening to Kane and Abel the most enjoyable?

Archer does great character development. This book is no different. But, this was not his best.

If you’ve listened to books by Jeffrey Archer before, how does this one compare?

I listened to the entire Clifton Chronicles series. They were all great and I couldn't stop listening. This doesn't compare. The story doesn't have as many twists and turns and the characters are just sad and angry. Also, TOO MANY F-BOMBS. In the Clifton Chronicles, there are very few F-words in the entire series. This book, alone, has more. And, like any other time they are used, they are unnecessary. I want to share his books with my kids, or listen while they are in the car. I can't do that, anymore.

What about Jason Culp’s performance did you like?

He was ok. I like the British books and narrators, better.

    Any additional comments?

Jeffrey Archer also seems to think he has to push homosexuality, although more subtle than so many authors. I thought he was different, since Harry Clifton sang in the church choir and his mother, and future in-laws were portrayed as Believers, to some extent. But, in the later books in this series and in some of his other books, he has to put that in.

    "Predictable but loved it anyway"

Such a rich novel. Gives a sense of what it was like to live in another not that distant error. Totally kept my interest. I listen on the way to work and looked forward to the drive. Two main characters and each is very human. One is not the hero. Highly recommend it.

    "A bit too predictable"

Expected a bit more from how the story started, but ended up quite displeased at how predictable the story was.

    "There is a pattern ..."

i really enjoy the writing style. multiple perspectives from the main characters creates depth. the story line is captivating with twists and turns.

on the down side the author seems to take bits from his previous works.
