Publisher's Summary

They came to earth - Pestilence, War, Famine, Death - four horsemen riding their screaming steeds, racing to the corners of the world. Four horsemen with the power to destroy all of humanity. They came to earth, and they came to end us all.

Ana da Silva always assumed she’d die young - she just never expected it to be at the hands of Famine, the haunting immortal who once spared her life so many years ago. But if the horseman remembers her at all, he must not care, for when she comes face to face with him for the second time in her life, she’s stabbed and left for dead.

Only, she doesn’t quite die.

If there’s one thing Famine is good at, it’s cruelty. And how these blighted bastards deserve it. Try as he might, he can’t forget what they once did to him. But when Ana, a ghost from his past, corners him and promises pain for what he so recently did to her, she and her empty threats captivate him, and he decides to keep her around.

In spite of themselves, Ana and Famine are drawn to each other. But at the end of the day, the two are enemies. Nothing changes that. Not one kind act, not two. And definitely not a few steamy nights. But enemies or reluctant lovers, if they don’t stop themselves soon, heaven will.

Oh Laura

Gggiiirrrrllll!!!!! I absolutely loved this book! Ana was a beast of a heroine!! I must say that this one is now my favorite of the 3 so far. You better get to writing Death because I have a feeling you’re really going to go all out! Ok so about the book. Famine read somewhat similarly to the first 2 books BUT there is just more! Ana is snarky, a fighter, and has a huge heart. Famine is an alphahole but Ana cracks that exterior. You can feel his feelings for her. Laura did great on the world building. I honestly feel like I took a trip without the jet lag. Susannah doesn’t disappoint either. She is in my top 10 favorite narrators. Jay was new to me and his voice isn’t bad but I was not expecting Famine to sound like that. Overall, this book is worth it! Get it and you won’t be disappointed!

Yes!

Another knock-it-out-of-the-park, new favorite by both the author and narrator. Thank you for a bright spot amidst this dastardly year! The book started with a bang, kept the action up throughout, and ended with a bang. Absolutely can’t wait for the next book!

Such a Fantastic Story

This story is fantastic, as are the previous two in this series; Pestilence and War. Laura does an amazing job building this world on its 3rd wave of the apocalypse that it is utterly believable. The characters are so nuanced - flawed but perfectly perfect in their imperfection. Does that even make sense? At the beginning of the story Famine seems like this horrible being but throughout the story and his interactions with Ana, his awfulness slowly becomes understandable, even while you still doubt if he's truly redeemable. Ana's doubts and insecurities are fleshed out so well you can't help but feel her emotions with her. It's all so understandable. I can't say enough about this story. It's worth every penny and every moment spent listening. What a fantastic book, with equally fantastic narration.

Laura Thalassa might be my new fav. Author.

Laura thalassa has a way with drawing the story out and keeping you emotionally engaged through the whole series. I am bummed that I have to wait for the next book to be released. She adds enough imagery to imagine the depleted land and world. It’s got enough vulgarity and kink to make you uncomfortable but not grossed out or offended ( that could just be me and my personal threshold though ). I loved it!!!! I am obsessed with the whole series.

Can’t wait for book 4

I so hated Famine to start with he was an arrogant dick but he grew on me . I think it was his protective towards Anna and the revenge he took on those that hurt her meanwhile he still denied his feelings towards her. Anna tried to fight her feelings towards Famine she knew how evil he was but love won out in the end.
