I wish that this wasn’t just a novel but a full length novel

I wish that this wasn’t just a novel but a full length novel. I absolutely love this story. Claire is amazing. I love her. And let’s be real. Jake is like a complete dream. Come true. The spices is amazingly spicy. The plot and storyline was actually really good. I wish there was more of it.

great narration

the narration was great. wish the story was longer. idk why there had to be so much hate around being proud of being a firefighter and agreeing that firefighters lives matter. BLM was a scam, look it up. maybe the author was trying to be neutral but she really wasn't. that was off putting. took me out of the story. also, I get she was a victim of narcissistic abuse, and i like that Jake called her out, but damn. give the guy a chance. not everyone is your mom or ex. i do wish there was more with the ex, like more of a conflict between Jake and the ex. that would have been satisfying. I love that Jake was so immediately dedicated and was very clear about what he wanted. it was refreshing to have a man who wanted commitment and traditional marriage and being so honest about it. also, can we be honest about how much of a lie "the patriarchy" is? that is just an excuse to be mean to men. Men have a higher suicide rate, can't express their emotions the same way women can and the double standards are off the charts. if the world is really all run by men then why are they treated like such villains all the time? are all men great? no. but neither are all women. I mean, the fmc was totally unfair to Jake where he was exceptionally kind and honest with her. he had boundaries she tried to break but if he had done that, he would have been a POS. is she? she was red flag city but he gave her a chance. he was green flag city but she kept him at arms length. why dont we just take each person individually? get therapy.

good story though. i really liked Jake. he deserved better.

Another great book. Short and a fast read. I really enjoyed it!! Like these short books

great read

This stood out as an unusual novella. Eventhough it is a shorter story, it handled serious topics very well, has character development, and didn’t jump immediately into spice.
