From number-one New York Times best-selling authors Preston & Child, an all-new short story featuring Agent Pendergast, available only as an ebook and audio download.

In New Orleans' French Quarter, the Tooth Fairy isn't a benevolent sprite who slips money under your pillow at night.... He's a mysterious old recluse who must be appeased with teeth—lest he extract retribution. When young Diogenes Pendergast loses a tooth, however, his skeptical older brother Aloysius is determined to put the legend to the test...with dire consequences.

This is a short teaser before the up coming release of the next Pendergast novel. As always, his stories are chilling. This story is from his childhood and told to Constance in the living room of their house in New York. It is suitably disturbing in the traditional manner. It is worth the hour. Pop open your wallet and pay cash. Thumbs up.

A chilling short Aloysius - Great

I love the Pendergast series but was initially reluctant to get this since I thought the 'bad tooth fairy' subject might be too macabre. I was right but the story was masterfully written & performed. Cons- the story may stay with you like all good horror tales but that's also what makes for a classic fairy tale. The brevity of the story will leave you wanting more.

Gruesome & short but in true Pendergast fashion

I loved this book. Just a bit of the - what the heck - on the old legend of the tooth fairy as only the Pendergast’s could tell it. It’s not long but way fun.

What an full short

What did you love best about Extraction?

As always, Preston and Child gave us another excellent story and Rene Auberjonois a perfect read.

Another excellent story...

The narrator was very appropriate when he was speaking as Agent Pendergast but only mediocre for other characters voices. Story itself was typical for the series. In the end, you finish the story with tons of unanswered questions.

Very dark fairy tale

Imagine sitting around a campfire and Pendergast tells a story...

Rene Auberjonois always does an awesome Pendergast

A Visit Back to Pendergast's Childhood

As far as short stories go, this was a good one. It is basically a tale of a mysterious man considered by young kids to be a very evil tooth fairy. The whole story takes place as Pendergast and his friends enjoy themselves before dinner. The story is short but it sheds some new light on Diogenes and perhaps Pendergast's future life choices.

Nice little side story
