Publisher's summary

Calder Seton is an unapologetic manwhore. Former Texas Ranger turned private security agent for Elite, he’s an expert at keeping his heart to himself. His employer wishes he’d do the same for his body. Calder has a habit of sleeping with Elite’s clients and they’ve told him to keep it in his pants or find a new job. That’s fine with Calder. He has a new playmate anyway, virginal actor Robby Shaw.

Robby Shaw spent most of his life sheltered from the world until he lands a role in an LA kid’s show and becomes the fake boyfriend of A-list actor, Elijah Dunne. When that relationship ends in humiliation and heartache, Robby meltdowns epically, landing him in county lockup and on the radar of Calder Seton, who he hasn’t seen in over a month.

A sizzling hookup leaves both Robby and Calder questioning their life choices, and when Robby’s life is threatened, Calder doesn’t hesitate to step in, free of charge. Unfortunately, Robby hires Elite before he can volunteer, putting himself on Calder’s list of untouchables until they can solve a murder.

The rules of Romancelandia state only a virgin can tame a manwhore, but both Robby and Calder have a pile of baggage and everything from a cult to anonymous killers standing in their way. Can they find a way to heal from their pasts so they can have a future?

Exasperating is the third book in the Elite Protection Services Series and contains age-gap, high-heat romance with an HEA and no cliffhangers.

Warning: This book references past childhood abuse.

good listen

I really enjoyed this book. So when I was offered an ARC of this audio i was like yes please and thank you. I like the story and enjoy the charters. I was a bit off with the narrator though. It wasn't anything blaring or unenjoyable I just did not feel the pull towards the story like I did with the book(could be a me thing). I enjoyed listening to it. It just was not one of my favorites.

Nice

Enjoyed this audio from Onley James! It was well written and definitely held my interest. I liked the storyline and the main characters were intriguing. Liam Dicosimo is growing on me as a narrator and I think he has a bright future.

Love These Protectors

After listening to Captivating, I was hoping for Calder and Robby's story! I love age gap stories, and the fact that Robby was a virgin and Calder was the exact opposite, I was couldn't wait to listen. I like Liam DiCosimo's narration, but I wish there was more distinction between some of the characters. I cannot wait for Infuriating!

Heart warming

I so enjoyed this story of hard times and broken relationships. Robby was a interesting character and I liked his look on life. Calder is a hot and amazing character who is just what Robby needs. This has action and adventure with wild times and a HEA. The narration was also great.

Calder and Robby Find Love

Robby, the former fake boyfriend of Hollywood star Elijah, featured in the previous book of this series, ‘Captivating’, and Elite Protection Services employee Calder find love in ‘Exasperating’, the 3rd book of the series. They’ll each have to deal with demons from the past to find a path to happiness together.

Note: This story is a stand-alone. There is no need to read ‘Captivating’ first. I do recommend getting it at some point. It's really good as well.

I would classify this book, first and foremost, as a romantic suspense. During the course of the book Robby is in need of protection and Calder is only too happy to provide it. Both men have had an attraction to each other before this point and being in close proximity only makes it grow stronger. At first glance, it seems they’re not compatible; Robby is a virgin and Calder is described as a manwhore. Throughout the story similarities start to emerge. Both men have experienced trauma in their pasts and have attempted to bury and forget it. But the past has a way of never letting go and now they each have to face it head on. Can they confront these reminders and emerge stronger together?

I really like how Onley James has written these characters. The build is a little quick, but the scenes of them together, getting to know one another on the way to love, are sweet and satisfying. The sex scenes show an appropriate build to them, given Robby’s inexperience. The story turns out to be completely adorable and put a smile on my face.

And topping off this great story from Onley James is a wonderful performance by narrator Liam DiCosimo. His ability for distinct and well-suited voices for each character adds a perfect touch to the entire story.

This audiobook was given to me as a free review copy, that I requested. This is my voluntary review of it.

Recommended.

Really well written!

Not only is this book steamy, but it's also heartbreakingly sweet and laugh out loud hilarious. Not to mention that the author has an excellent command of the English language, which is woefully rare in this genre. So far my favorite in this series.

Love Robby and Calder

I love Robby and Calder’s story. Liam’s Texas accent was a bit strange. It didn’t take me out the story too much but every once in awhile he’d say a word and it was a bit jarring. The strong story pulled me through though. The chemistry of the characters is hot and I’m glad we got to know more of the history behind these characters. The ending is a bit of a surprise but I like that kind of thing.

My favorite of the series!

This is my favorite because two souls in need of mending meet and the ride they go on is fraught with danger and intrigue. This story gives insight to family left behind after tragedy and found family. The narrator does a fantastic job with voices and inflections. I highly recommend this audiobook!
