Publisher's Summary

Calder Seton is an unapologetic manwhore. Former Texas Ranger turned private security agent for Elite, he’s an expert at keeping his heart to himself. His employer wishes he’d do the same for his body. Calder has a habit of sleeping with Elite’s clients and they’ve told him to keep it in his pants or find a new job. That’s fine with Calder. He has a new playmate anyway, virginal actor Robby Shaw.

Robby Shaw spent most of his life sheltered from the world until he lands a role in an LA kid’s show and becomes the fake boyfriend of A-list actor, Elijah Dunne. When that relationship ends in humiliation and heartache, Robby meltdowns epically, landing him in county lockup and on the radar of Calder Seton, who he hasn’t seen in over a month.

A sizzling hookup leaves both Robby and Calder questioning their life choices, and when Robby’s life is threatened, Calder doesn’t hesitate to step in, free of charge. Unfortunately, Robby hires Elite before he can volunteer, putting himself on Calder’s list of untouchables until they can solve a murder.

The rules of Romancelandia state only a virgin can tame a manwhore, but both Robby and Calder have a pile of baggage and everything from a cult to anonymous killers standing in their way. Can they find a way to heal from their pasts so they can have a future?

Exasperating is the third book in the Elite Protection Services Series and contains age-gap, high-heat romance with an HEA and no cliffhangers.

Warning: This book references past childhood abuse.

Nice

Enjoyed this audio from Onley James! It was well written and definitely held my interest. I liked the storyline and the main characters were intriguing. Liam Dicosimo is growing on me as a narrator and I think he has a bright future.

Could not finish

Frankly, I just got bored. With about two and a half hours remaining, I found I didn't care how it ended. I don't think this author is for me. Romance in general tends to be formulaic and this author's stories just seem like insert obligatory bit of the formula here.

Robbie gets his time to shine!

I absolutely love Robbie. He’s so innocent sweet and kind. He has been through so much and go find someone totally captivated by him and who doesn’t deny his desires is so refreshing. I loved this book because it’s like no others and is so well written. The story is amazing and heart felt. Onley James always brings it all together with hurt and comfort. Liam Dicosimo is amazing as always. He has the best ability to bring these characters to life. Highly recommend

And he became my bodyguard for life

I have never tried Onley James’ books before and I regret that I didn’t discover her sooner. This was such a sweet story. Frankly speaking, I was a bit worried when I found out Robby escaped from a cult. I’m not a religious person and I usually stay away from books that have something to do with religion but I’m so glad I have this a chance.

Robby is a somewhat famous actor who decided he wanted to give up his V-card. And he so wants his bodyguard Calder to pop his cherry. And Calder is also a man with a dark past who’s running away from his inner demons by sleeping around. He also really wanted to be with Robby but at the same time, he’s afraid that he’ll hurt the innocent young man. Will they be able to conquer their inner demons and become a couple?

It was sweet, funny and interesting. And I like that they didn’t go from zero to hundred within a few chapters. They took time exploring each other’s bodies and their feelings. It was a great listen.

Calder and Robby Find Love

Robby, the former fake boyfriend of Hollywood star Elijah, featured in the previous book of this series, ‘Captivating’, and Elite Protection Services employee Calder find love in ‘Exasperating’, the 3rd book of the series. They’ll each have to deal with demons from the past to find a path to happiness together.

Note: This story is a stand-alone. There is no need to read ‘Captivating’ first. I do recommend getting it at some point. It's really good as well.

I would classify this book, first and foremost, as a romantic suspense. During the course of the book Robby is in need of protection and Calder is only too happy to provide it. Both men have had an attraction to each other before this point and being in close proximity only makes it grow stronger. At first glance, it seems they’re not compatible; Robby is a virgin and Calder is described as a manwhore. Throughout the story similarities start to emerge. Both men have experienced trauma in their pasts and have attempted to bury and forget it. But the past has a way of never letting go and now they each have to face it head on. Can they confront these reminders and emerge stronger together?

I really like how Onley James has written these characters. The build is a little quick, but the scenes of them together, getting to know one another on the way to love, are sweet and satisfying. The sex scenes show an appropriate build to them, given Robby’s inexperience. The story turns out to be completely adorable and put a smile on my face.

And topping off this great story from Onley James is a wonderful performance by narrator Liam DiCosimo. His ability for distinct and well-suited voices for each character adds a perfect touch to the entire story.

This audiobook was given to me as a free review copy, that I requested. This is my voluntary review of it.

Recommended.

Exasperating

Another great book in this series that I went completely out of order on. I can attest that they can be read/ listened to as stand-alone books but are probably better read in order as all the characters make appearances in other books.

Liam does an excellent job again.

I received an arc and this is my honest review.

Love These Protectors

After listening to Captivating, I was hoping for Calder and Robby's story! I love age gap stories, and the fact that Robby was a virgin and Calder was the exact opposite, I was couldn't wait to listen. I like Liam DiCosimo's narration, but I wish there was more distinction between some of the characters. I cannot wait for Infuriating!

Love Robby and Calder

I love Robby and Calder’s story. Liam’s Texas accent was a bit strange. It didn’t take me out the story too much but every once in awhile he’d say a word and it was a bit jarring. The strong story pulled me through though. The chemistry of the characters is hot and I’m glad we got to know more of the history behind these characters. The ending is a bit of a surprise but I like that kind of thing.

A great age gap, hurt/comfort story

**4.5**
Wow, this book definitely starts with a punch. So much happens in the first 20% - an arrest, intimacy, murder! This is a very intense story, especially for Robby. Occasionally we get a glimpse at his childhood which was hard and abusive until he managed to escape for Hollywood. His recent actions are all going against him though. Calder finds himself quickly falling for the young man regardless of the walls he put up around his heart years ago after suffering hurt and loss.
Robby's character breaks Calder, and my, heart. He has such a low self image/worth and feels invisible to the world around him.
There is a really interesting plot to the story alongside the relationship developing between the two men. It goes along with Robby's history with his family and the religion/cult that they are a part of and the goings on with that in recent years. Calder's past also comes into play as he looks into it but Robby takes the strong role and offers his care and support to help the other man move forward. I really enjoyed the romance that develops between such different men. It seemed really natural, though there were some helpful nudges from their friends.
I love this series. There are hard hitting emotions, strong bonds formed with friendships and lovers and there are a great group of people involved right from the start. Past characters, especially Wyatt, Linc and Charlie, step up and are there through the really hard times for Robby which means so much to him considering he feels so alone.
Definitely another recommended read from this author. You're drawn in right from the start and gripped right through the story with the characters and the drama.
Liam has done great work narrating this series and brings the story to life for Robbie and Calder in this third book of the series. Robbie comes across as innocently as expected but I wasn't too sure on Calder's though it didn't stop me from enjoying the story.

An interesting and unexpected romance

This story started off in a really strange place, but Robby and Calder grew on me as their adventure continued. I wasn't quite sure what to make of Robby initially, but as I learned more and more about his background some of his quirks started to make sense to me. To call him innocent is a significant understatement, and it was thrilling to see him experience pleasure for the first time under Calder's firm hands. Calder himself appeared to be such a playboy initially, but underneath the posturing was a wonderfully sweet, devoted man. There was something so lovely about the way Calder treated Robby--like he really was an angel sent down to bless his life--that had me swooning left and right as the two of them fell in love. Of course, this wouldn't be an Elite Protection Services novel without some intense, life-threatening action chasing these men. Robby's past was particularly creepy, and I found the mystery surrounding it captivating. Calder was also hiding some devastating secrets from his past, and I just have to say that finding out what happened to his family was a game-changer for how I interpreted his actions moving forward. As Calder and Robby grew closer together, I found myself incredibly emotionally invested in their happiness. The narrator for this audio made me feel like I was in the story with these men, and as danger started circling closer and closer to the two of them I was really afraid to see how everything would play out. Though Robby and Calder almost ripped my heart out with their attempt at heroics, I was relieved to see the two of them make a new life for themselves and put their pasts behind them for good.

Wonderful addition to the series

Another great addition to the series.
As much as I hated what poor Robby suffered, it was absolutely beautiful to see him and Calder learn to rely on each other and grow as individuals and together as a couple.
Calder especially did a great job of overcoming his fears in order to be exactly who Robby needed.
Beautiful narration brought the story to lufe.

The player and the virgin...

The story of Calder and Robby. Calder is a player well known for bedding his clients. He gets an assignment with an actor in danger. He meets his ugly dog first and the rest is history as they say. I liked the part with Robby as a you g kid giving lessons of love to his fanatic parents. Also the patience and care from Calder and their awesome chemistry. It was a rather entertaining book. Robby is much stronger than what he seems to be, specially with Calder by his side and his new friends and family.

Entertaining

My heart ached for Robbie because of how things ended between him and Elijah. He did not take it very well, but it did lead him to where he met someone that was meant for him. Although, the timing stank. Calder mixed business with pleasure one too many times, causing Linc to put the kibosh on sleeping with clients,

Forbidden and close proximity....hmmmm...that’s not tempting, is it? Nooooo. Not at all. (snickers)

This was an enjoyable book, despite the ending feeling a bit rushed. The mcs had great chemistry and an entertaining storyline.

The narrator did a great job with the voices. I can tell he’s come a long way from when he began narrating, I can’t wait to hear more of his work in the future.

Enjoyable!

4.25 Stars!

Robbie is Elijah's ex-fake bf from book 2, Captivating. He's acting up, hurt after the way Elijah ended things between them, not necessarily because he loved Elijah, but because of the way things happened. When he ends up in prison after a night he can barely remember, and then starts getting stalked, Calder steps in to help him. The attraction between young, innocent, virginal Robbie and older, manwhore Calder is instant, made even more intense because Linc forbids Calder to go after yet another client at risk of being fired. Close proximity and Robbie might prove to be too much temptation for Calder to resist, though. But that's not the only thing these two are dealing with.

I really liked Calder and Robbie. They had amazing chemistry and they certainly were hot together. Despite the age difference and the fact that one was a virgin and the other a playboy, their relationship is pretty straightforward and drama-free, which was refreshing.

I adore Wyatt and Charlie, they're a force to be reckoned and frankly, Linc should consider hiring Charlie, she's plain awesome.

Liam DiCosimo did a great job with Robbie and Calder. Calder's Texan drawl was swoon-worthy and Robbie came off as sweet and innocent, yet eager to learn.

Overall, this was an enjoyable audiobook. I felt that the ending was a tad rushed, and the epilogue came a bit out of the blue (although Robbie's sister made an offhand mention at some point), but it was a good addition to the series and I'm looking forward to more.

Just as good as Intoxicating and Captivating

Boy is this whole series great! I loved the ebook version of Exasperating and knew with Liam DiCosimo’s vocal talent (judging by the first two books in the series) the characters of both Robby and Calder were really going to come to life. And I was not disappointed.

Robby is such a sweet character. He has had a hard childhood and doesn’t feel worthy. But his innate sweetness is the thing that draws Calder (who gets about a bit - if you know what I mean!). But then we see that it’s so much more than that which then draws them together.

We have lots going on - involving both Robby and Calder’s pasts. We also have some past characters helping - and this also helps to show Robby that he is worthy.

As I said the narrators voice really brings the story to life and kept me just as hooked as I was in my first read through of the ebook.
