Publisher's summary

The Light Pantheon rules from above. The Dark Pantheon rules from below. Together, they defeated the other divine races and became the masters of Etinhym.

Eadric is the son of the Grave Queen, but he was raised in the Crown Realm as part of the alliance between the two pantheons. After reaching the age of 18, he’s finally able to choose the path that will allow him to acquire demigod abilities and explore the many realms of Etinhym. Although his goal is to become a Grave Lord, serving under his mother, he finds himself following the trail of a conspiracy that threatens the divine pact that has kept the jotuns, the valkyries, the greater demons, and the dragons from uniting against the gods.

Eadric’s story will take him through strange realms, from a spatially disjointed forest that twists and turns on itself to a living ocean of blood and a skyscape full of floating castles. He’ll also have to face off against strange monsters, corrupted spirits, and even towering abominations. If he fails, then the war that follows will likely be the last war Etinhym ever sees - a war that will surely lead to the extermination of the human race.

This book contains RPG elements, harsh language, and descriptions of violence.

My first litRPG leveled up my love for books

The narrator was fantastic with no flaw or error ever breaking my suspension of disbelief. The writing and character information were sensible and easy to digest. With as much fun as I was having, I plan to listen to it again soon for anything I missed the first time. I would highly recommend this to others and hope they too can enjoy every part of it.

Great character development

Most litRPG have bland characters, but our MC here has a vivid personality, mostly bad, and we see a bit of character change throughout the book. Definitely above average for this genre.

Decent book

I found to book surprisingly good. The system for stats and skills was nicely done, and I liked out the world was set up with divinity and different realms.

My main drawback was slight confusion with how the main character acted. To me, his personality seems all over the place. in the beginning, his first impression was a submissive personality type, but it showed he was an arrogant prick. Then, his internal monologs and actions always seem different. one example was that he was saying how he was not got to get influenced by a powerful family, and then a half a day later, he was sleeping with their daughter. The only thing I could reson was just the culture differences is the reason for the trouble I have with the MC personality.

Interesting story, slightly jarring performance

The story is interesting and has enough happening to keep you hooked to see what happens next. The main character starts off as an entitled child but experiences good character development that makes them much more relatable.

The narrator has a habit of awkward pauses in the middle of sentences that sometimes distracts me from what is being said and also often the voices don’t seem to match the characters depicted quite right.

Overall definitely still worth checking out.
