The third volume of the Regency romance series

The School for Manners finds the Tribble sisters, Amy and Effie, once again entangled in the machinations of the marriage mart. The formidable but lovable spinsters, who earn their livings by sponsoring young girls and finding them husbands, take on the case of Delilah, a beautiful, mindlessly flirtatious country heiress. What puzzles everyone is why such a beauty is unmarried at 23, and why she is ensconced in the London school of the zany Tribbles. The answer is found in the handsome person of Sir Charles Digby, returned from the Napoleonic Wars and startled to learn he is the cause of Delilah’s single state - but eager to remedy it. As in Perfecting Fiona, the Tribbles, with their salty exchanges and impossible schemes, provide delightful entertainment. Even as Delilah finds happiness, the sisters hear that another customer is on the horizon, an event to be celebrated in the next volume.

Any additional comments?

School for Manners by Chesney is not that great a series. I like the Traveling Matchmaker and the Poor Relations series much better. The fourth book in the series is ok until the last portion. It involves an unnecessary violent scene. Also, the Tribble sisters behave as uncivilized, immature children having a temper tantrum even though they are considered to be " good ton". I get tired of Effie Tribble's wailing and Amy Tribbles' coarse language. The heroine, Felicity does incredibly stupid things and ends up being attacked and almost raped. I ended up not caring what happened to any of the characters.

Just an ok listen

Any additional comments?

The first two books in the series were narrated by someone different. It was rather badly narrated - with bad drawn out words and voices. I like this person far better and was able to enjoy the story.

Thank you for CHANGING the narrator!

What is it with MC Beaton and attempted rape scenes? They're in every Regency series she writes, sometimes more than once. If you listen to enough of her Regency books it's kind of like she has a bunch of scenes, puts them in a hat, and randomly puts a few together for each book. The duel, the evil mistress plots with fop, the evil fortune hunter plots with servent, the attempted rape, etc. That said I do love the Amy character, she just makes these books.

Loving this series but one thing...

Okay. I don’t know if this one is my favorite or not. Great story though. And you have to love the crazy sisters.

Another great one!
