Publisher's Summary

"How do you overturn an election?" It's a question that has obsessed presidential candidate Jamie Carter ever since her loss to businessman and political neophyte President Jack Smart. In spite of the election results, she's determined to take what she sees as her rightful place in the White House - through any means possible. First, she establishes residency in North Carolina. Then, when the state's Pro Tem of the US Senate is found dead, she is appointed to his position by her friend, the governor. Now, there are only three people who stand in her way: the Speaker of the House, the Vice President, and the President himself....

The countdown begins. The assassins are ready. But when one of them tries to kill the CIA Director under Jake Mahegan's watch, the plan is momentarily disrupted. Jake is able to prevent one murder - but the conspiracy is too big, and too insidious, to stop now. Senator Jamie Carter is the mastermind behind one of the bloodiest coups ever conceived. Her highly trained killers are closing in on all the president's men. And the course of American history will be changed forever - on Assassination Day....

America Needs a real Jake & Cassie !!!

I live in Raleigh NC so I'm very familiar with Tony Tata's career over the past 15 years. Big fan of the Jake Mahegan series, Jake is certainly in the pantheon of Mitch Rapp, Scott Horvath, Dewey Andreas and the other 8-10 Superstars of Spec Ops Action Fiction.

I assume most Tata fans share Tony and my "side of the aisle" politically. Those who don't... ain't gonna care for this story AT ALL. As several reviews indicate. I LOVED IT and will be recommending it on my website and to my FB / Twitter friends.

I suggest to fully appreciate "Jake". (and "Cassie").. it would be helpful to read earlier Jake adventures before tackling this one.

This Could Happen

I was gripped by this captivating thriller from page one. He writes well. His grasp of subject matter, tactics and tech derive undoubtedly from his storied military career. He also captures the worst possible columniation of domestic and geo- political realities we are experiencing real-time in this country in his take on the infiltration from within by treasonous actors. I am afraid that we are very close to this scenario becoming real and not in the distant future.

Lack of excitement

I enjoy the characters and the story. But, I’m not getting much excitement out of the action scenes. Maybe it’s me... I have heard the whole series so far.
I’m not sure what is missing, but there is something missing...

One Of The Best!!!

Wow I couldn't put this down. Not only was this one of the Jake Mahegan stories but one of the best political thrillers of the century. Cassie is one bad dama as the Honorable Cheeto would Tweet. BGen Tata knocked it out of the park.

Great story but yet another superwoman

Great story for these times. It's very exciting. The vocal inserts were poorly done and distracting.

We are winning….

Great “fictional” book. Glad it was given to us in this crazy time. We need reminders that there are some evil people that don’t Love our country.

Not as good

Not as good as the others in this series I’ve listened to. I’ll keep following the series but this one just not
as riveting.

So many words

This story was told from a perspective that requires the final chapter that just describes all the crucial details that the author decided to not divulge in the actual story.
Not worth the time
