Publisher's Summary

From Demetra Brodsky comes Dive Smack, a riveting new audiobook that will have listeners hooked.

Theo Mackey remembers only one thing for certain about the fire that destroyed his home: He lit the match. Sure, it was an accident. But the blaze killed his mom and set his dad on a path to self-destruction. Everything else about that fateful night is full of gaping holes in Theo’s mind, for good reason. Maybe it’s better that way. As captain of the Ellis Hollow Diving Team, with straight A's and solid friends, he's only one semester away from securing a scholarship and leaving his past behind.

But when a family history project gets assigned at school, new memories come rushing to the surface, memories that make Theo question what he really knows about his family, the night of the fire, and if he can trust anyone - including himself.

A great summer read!

A beautifully written mystery novel which kept me intrigued until the very end. The characters are highly developed and story cleverly set up with lots of twists and surprises until the end. I’m looking forward to reading Demetra Brodsky’s next book.

Don’t miss this book!

Dive Smack is technically a teen read, but readers from any age group will find it thoroughly thrilling. With enough twists and surprises you won’t see coming, it will be on your mind well after you’ve finished reading it. I love to reread good books, and this one definitely hits that category for me. Demetra takes you on an intense adventure that is difficult to put down.

Had me at the edge of my seat!

This was such a fantastic read! I absolutely loved it and the narrator was amazing! It was super intense and had me guessing until the big reveal. I listened while at work and it had me sitting at the edge of my seat, and a little jumpy because I was so into it! The characters are amazing, and I loved the friendship Theo has with Chip.

There was a lot going on but it blended so amazingly! if you haven't read it you need to get on it!!!

Enjoyable if not a bit predictable..

I love Michael Crouch. I will listen to basically any book he narrates. I had very high hopes for this novel after reading so many reviews about the "crazy" plot twist at the end and I love the idea of a good thriller. This novel starts slow; in fact stays slow the first half. Which I don't mind a good slow build up. But I had most of the twist figured out well before the end of the book. I also felt like the whole reason behind our main characters hunt for family history seemed flimsy at best. A school project about your family history? Ok but why? Just felt like it was made up and thrown into the story as an afterthought to justify the character looking into his family's dark secrets.
