Guided hostage retreat

I have to say, I'm loving these murder bros!

This time we meet Cade, the unhinged kidnapper's 'victim' who's a lover of 90's music and another one of the Buckingham boys.
After a case of mistaken identity and kidnapping gone wrong, we get to know Ansel, sassy hacker and quite possibly the most inept kidnapper ever!

What follows is a rather touching, funny story of family dynamics and found family.
The banter between this lot is hilarious (Cade gets a lot of grief for his music taste, and watch out for the TLC reference!) but there are some equally heartbreaking moments too.

We get drawn further in to the underworld workings of 'The Firm' when an evil crime syndicate decides to take them on. But they're messing with the wrong brothers!

It does make me laugh that 'The Firm' are fast becoming the worse kept secret in the world. They have apparently operated for decades unmasked, but I'm not sure how! They are actually terrible at keeping their identities under wraps.

I do love a forced proximity, only one bed, kidnapping trope. It makes for enjoyable teasing. The MCs are both vers, which also keeps the filth fresh and varied.

Great narrator (not one i'm familiar with) and I look forward to the other books in the series.
My only disappointment is that each book has a different narrator, which can inadvertently alter the tone of the book. It can cause a lack of consistency in the story telling. So far, so good though. Let's hope it continues.

Another fantastic story from Lark & Cora!

This author duo is a dream team! This is my first time listening to Avery Wilde but he was perfect as both Cade and Ansel. Highly recommend this one!

Fun Series

Not quite as good as book 1 but still worth a listen/read. Looking forward to book 3.

great story so so reader

this book has a different reader than book 1 of the firm. while this reader was alright he had a hard time differentiating the different character voices. made the audio book harder to love

OMG… great book

I love both Cora Rose and Lark Taylor. This series is only getting better. Cade and Ansel are adorable. The whole family is hilarious… caught myself laughing out loud several times. There’s angst, but it’s manageable. I know it’s dark romance and there are some gruesome scenes, but overall it’s a romcom with an obsessive MC.

I also have to say, these narrators are great. I never heard of Avery Wilde, but he did an awesome job… just like Harley Chase did in Covenant. Highly recommend…
