A killer is watching....

Nat Jennings nearly died the night her family was murdered - and spent the next three years wishing she had. Now, she is returning to the sleepy bayou town of Bellerose, Louisiana, driven by cryptic messages only she can hear - messages pleading for her help....

After serving six years for a crime he didn't commit, Nick Bastille is back in Bellerose, mourning his precious son, who drowned while Nick was away at prison, unable to protect him. But when Nat approaches him with a shocking revelation, his denial slowly turns to a desire for revenge....

Together, they will hunt for a merciless killer who nearly destroyed them both once before - and is now preparing to finish them off once and for all....

The story was gripping. the narrator was difficult. She got better as the story went on.

very good

I have read many Linda Castillo books. I usually like them. I am not sure if it was the narration or what but the tone and speech seemed on the verge of hysteria much of the time. It became irritating after a while. I realize that this was a book where you were on the edge of of your seat much of the time but it was overdone. I am from the south so possibly the “southern” accent seemed a little much.

Surprised

The story line had potential, but the narrator was horrible. Too slow, overly dramatic and breathy. I couldn't finish.

Disappointed

Generally have like Linda Castillo in the past. I was unable to get past the narrator.

Narrator was a bit too histrionic for my taste.
