Practical and empathetic advice for care givers

I really appreciated the information and caring delivery of the author and narrator. The information about the disease, common symptoms, and progression was very helpful, especially since I and many of my family members caring genes that increase our risk of dementia. My father passed away last hear after suffering for many years with Alzheimer's, and his mother before him also suffered from this debilitating illness. Understanding what to expect and the great self-care tips eases the burden.

I have a better understanding

As I watch my family get older, I've been curious about dementia and caretaking and was gifted this book.

Something that I really hadn't considered was all of the costs associated with taking care of a loved one.

I loved that the book lists steps to help you with financial planning. It even has a list of helpful resources to assist with financial costs.

It was also helpful to see some of the behaviors that come along with dementia.

There are so many things that I hadn't thought about and was unaware of, but I feel like I have a better understanding and I'm glad that I can reference this book when the time comes.

Encouragement and Understanding

This audio version was perfect to listen to while driving on a trip. At just under 5 hours, it kept my attention through the whole book. The format of each chapter having a summary and segue to the next chapter helped me make sure I heard the main points and reviewed them.
The narrator's voice was easy to listen to.
The audio version is a good complement to the Kindle version which I had previously read. I am now much more informed about dementia and encouraged that I can support my mom with compassion and skill.
