This book takes you through the benefits of the history of breathing techniques

Deep breathing explained

This is a great book for deep breathing techniques. In this book different deep breathing techniques are discussed. This type of breathing forces us to use more of our lung space by taking deeper breaths. This is a good practice and it has a positive impact of various organs and body system. This book discusses breathing techniques in conjunction with other organs in the body.

Amaing book!

What a great book to listen to! I was already familiar with breathing techniques but I learned new exercises. It's simple and easy to follow. I have already done some of the exercises in the book and it has helped me relax and even sleep better. I highly recommend it.

The Key to everything is breathing, It starts with that.

When you are in pain, when things are wrong in your life it is easy to let things get out of control, your mind can actually make the pain worse! When you breath, everything can slow down and you can find your center. THis book can help you find that center

Appreciating the power of breathing

This book covers an insightful topic on how much one can benefit from taking more control over their breathing to achieve a more relaxed life. The author provides a history of the connection and role of breathing in controlling our emotional state of mind. But what did it for me was the scale of benefits of what controlled breathing can deliver from a reduction in blood pressure, stress management, PTSD, ADHD anxiety and lots more. A lot of best practise for breathing are also provided, which I would be trialling.

Simple, Yet Profound!

It is astonishing how much can be understood about breathing - scientifically, spiritually and historically. I thought this book was so interesting because it was just so simple and profound. Finding ways to control and practice breathing can bring so many benefits.

Shallow breathing tells the body that you are under threat. Taking a pause to breathe deeply interrupts this thought process. The longer you exhale, the more your lungs expand and send the message to your brain that you are not in danger. The benefits are piled up - focus, lower blood sugar, less stress, better sleep, improve heart, pain management, etc.

The author offers several kinds of breathing exercises, walking you through each one, including circular breathing, box breathing (drawing a box in your mind), etc. I thought breathing would be sorta boring, but it is actually challenging and a skill to build up!

I especially liked his chapter on breathing to address chronic pain. It is so fascinating how pain is interpreted (sometimes wrongly) by the brain and how breathing can communicate to our brains!

This is a standard book anyone needs who is interested in their overall health!

With validated science it's hard to deny the benefits of proper breath work. Finding my way to a better life with meditation on the word of The Lord, breath work, and positive thinking.
