Publisher's summary

Andrew Barker is ready for the holidays. His perpetually bright and cheery personality feels right at home for Christmas. He has time off from work and a husband who's waiting for him at home, what else would he need?

Well, he had no idea he would be needing to sign divorce papers - let's start there.

Declan Rose-Covington, part of a luxury hotel dynasty, is coming into Stonewall Investigations because he needs help with a family issue. With his mom's huge holiday retreat around the corner, he's hoping to solve it before Santa comes to town. The last thing he's expecting is to enter the detective agency and fall for the strikingly handsome man sitting behind the front desk.

When Declan and Andrew meet they both feel an instant connection. Soon, the connection grows powerful enough to push Declan toward a crazy proposition: invite Andrew to the family retreat as a fake boyfriend. Andrew would get a nice week-long vacation out of it and Declan would avoid the judgemental jabs from all the spoused-up family members.

The potential for disaster was there, but there was also a chance to truly make this the most wonderful time of the year.

Contains mature themes.

Stonewall Light

Sweet, low angst, insta-love, holiday romance. Yeah this is a common story, "Be my fake boyfriend so I'm not embarrassed around my family/coworkers/friends but, oops we fell in love!" But Max Walker is funny and Greg Boudreux is always fantastic so, I'm not mad at it. 3.5 stars.

Dect the Halls

Beautifully written story, so glad that two people who were so lost in regards to love found each other. Even though it started out as a fake relationship, it became something real for both characters. I say thank you to the writer and it made me most happy just listening to the story as Christmas is my favorite holiday.

Good story. Great narration.

Oh the melodrama. The first three books had me a bit puzzled. I felt like I was familiar with this writing style, but I couldn't quite place it. I figured it out with this book. It feels like soap opera. Not complaining, just realizing.

The characters are interesting. The story is basically a fake boyfriend trope. If you are looking for a soap opera style story with a tiny hint of mystery and a few steamy scenes, you will enjoy this story.

Delightful Christmas story - solid 4.5 stars.

📖 Story comment: Good pace, likeable characters, nice flow.
Had me smiling from start to finish. This a very clichéd "be my fake boyfriend while I go home to my family" story, but I don't care - I was thoroughly delighted. Andrew is such a bright spark of a character and Declan was smart and charming - together they made a "perfect hallmark Christmas story".

🎧 Narrator comment: Greg Boudreaux can do no wrong (in my opinion). He suits the characters, has good cadence, inflections and intonations and it's easy to distinguish the characters from each other. Overall an enjoyable performance and he bought the story to life.
