Publisher's summary

The truth is a weak thing. It has no power. The only power the truth holds is the power we grant it.

The conspiracy is over. A deep draught was taken from the bitter cup of revenge. But not all is what it seems. Deceptions, new and old, unfold in this dramatic third book in the Wahrheit series.

Gerhard Fischer obtains a powerful and dangerous new tool. Ulrik finds an ally, and learns an old one has been playing him since the beginning. Ursula bargained the death of an enemy for the death of a loved one—but in the violent confusion of the palace, it's not clear which is which. Captain Otto Tilly meets his match, and discovers even the strongest armor has a chink a blade can slide through. The Bloody Hand is stymied, inciting his terrible wrath. And Ilse Brinke begins to realize the war they are fighting isn't what they think it is.

Can’t wait for the next one

I’m stunned, confused and a little scared. I really need the next book soon. A C Cobb is a great storyteller

Another winner!

I enjoyed the theme of this book and the way it progressed the story. More secrets were revealed while creating new mysteries. Travis Baldree was excellent, as always. I look forward to the next in series.

The narrator is the best part

Too many points of view. Depressing stories. Shitty country that makes me care less and less about if the characters win in the end. Too much morally gray situations.

Annoying ping pong story

So this has gays in it and priest molest young boys so yea woke warning. The story is good baldree is good but the way it hops around sucks. Each story line is good. Just hard to follow with how it jumps around.

Meh

Meh. I like the main character storylines. The side/new character storylines aren’t really worth it. Like the urchin could of just merged with the spy’s. It wasn’t needed, and honestly boring.
Nothing really happens throughout the book. Not a big fan of how ulric got screwed by the author.
Baldree was awesome as always.
