Danika
I ran from my Russian father to escape an arranged marriage
and ended up handcuffed to an Italian mafia hitman … in his bed.
He’s as intensely beautiful as he is ruthless.
A dichotomy of callous yet kind that fascinates me, though I know it shouldn’t.
The man’s a killer.
But more than that, he suffers from compulsions—a need to control every aspect of his life.
And now that I’ve entered his world, I’ve become his ultimate fixation.
What to expect in Death’s Favor:
- Neurodivergent assassin MMC
- Artist FMC
- He holds her prisoner
- Forced proximity
- Opposites attract
- Grumpy/sunshine
- Forced marriage
- Burn the world for her
For those of you who are new to me, I write what I'd call "mafia lite." My heroes are hardened criminals with soft spots for their heroines. There may be violence and cruelty in my books, but never between the main characters. Enjoy!

Danika and Tommy together were definitely made for each other. They literally were each other’s missing puzzle piece. Tommy was able to provide the safe haven Danika has always craved for herself and her family. While Danika provided Tommy with a sense of peace and calmness against his restless demons that coincided with his OCD. They both accepted each other’s quirky personalities and grew to understand each other. The spice and tension between these two was literal perfection without being over the top!
For the audiobook, Maeve York and CJ Mission did an amazing job bringing the intensity, fire, and banter to life. Each narrator was able to make the characters personalities sound very authentic and stay true to who they are in this story! I look forward to listening to more of these two in the future!

Tommy’s obsession is intense (he even calls her “wife” before they’re anywhere near the altar!), and their chemistry practically leaps off the page. The spice? Off the charts. This was such an addictive read. I devoured it in one sitting and didn’t want it to end!
🎧Maeve York and CJ Mission delivered a truly captivating performance in their duet narration. Their voices blended seamlessly, bringing depth, warmth, and realism to the characters. Each emotion felt genuine, and the chemistry between them made the story even more engaging. It felt less like listening to a book and more like being immersed in a living, breathing world. An outstanding narration that elevated the entire experience.
If you’re into possessive heroes, sizzling tension, and fast paced romance, Death’s Favor is a must read.

This was a great story. I loved the neurodivergent representation but even more so loved that Danika loved Tommy for all his little quirks that makes him who he is. While this is mafia, it wasn’t heavy on the scary mafia stuff. I mean, Danika is in the run from her very scary Russian mob father and runs right into the Italian mafias hands unbeknownst to her, but once she’s there, even though she’s being held captive, she actually feels safe and doesn’t want to leave. I love how family centered they are and not in the sense that the “familia” is better than everyone, but genuine family, including Danika’s mom and Gran who she’s very worried about.
Maeve and CJ were phenomenal in this narration. They were the perfect Danika and Tommy!

Tommy is our unique MMC with compulsive OCD, he meets Danika in a very… umm.. unconventional way 😂. Danika is running from an arranged marriage controlled by her father that never wanted anything to do with her.
This author detailed neurodivergent behavior perfectly and shows that everyone is deserving of love.
This book is an interconnected standalone, the other books are not necessary to read this one.

Danika, desperate to escape an arranged marriage orchestrated by her Russian father, finds herself in an impossible situation: handcuffed to an Italian mafia hitman—in his bed! This isn't just any hitman; he's as intensely beautiful as he is ruthless, a fascinating blend of callousness and unexpected kindness. But beneath his killer exterior, Tommy grapples with powerful compulsions, a need to control everything around him. And now that Danika has crashed into his world, she's become his ultimate fixation.
Jill Ramsower excels at crafting what she calls "mafia lite," where hardened criminals reveal surprising soft spots for their heroines. While there's violence and cruelty within the story, it's never between our main characters, ensuring a romance you can truly root for.
Tommy might just be my new favorite! His neurodivergent representation is incredibly well-done, showcasing his unique thought process. He's a no-nonsense, kick-ass force of nature until he spots a green-eyed, red-haired goddess on the street. Danika, though small, is fierce, with a fiery temper and an unyielding spirit when challenged. When her estranged father demands her compliance, she absolutely refuses.
This instant attraction, forced proximity, and arranged marriage trope transforms into a fast-paced rollercoaster. Ramsower expertly weaves in moments of levity, providing a welcome break from the mounting plot tension. And let's talk about the spice—it's just enough to make you feel the heat without overwhelming the story.
A huge round of applause for the narration by CJ Mission and Maeve York! Their duet performance is absolutely spot-on, bringing Tommy and Danika's intense chemistry and individual complexities to vivid life. Their delivery amplified every moment, making this one of my top listens this week.
If you crave a story with a neurodivergent assassin, an artist FMC held captive, forced proximity, and a grumpy/sunshine, "burn the world for her" romance, Death's Favor is an absolute must-listen. Don't miss out on this compelling addition to The Moretti Men series!

I loved the representation in the book too. Tommy is neurodivergent, and Danika has hearing loss. They seriously made the perfect couple personality wise as she soothed his anxiety. I’m not going to lie, the possessiveness Tommy was giving was to die for. Like I know why she agreed to their arrangement so easily lolol cause I would have done the same damn thing. 🙂↕️🧎🏻♀️

I loved this story. Right from the start I was hooked. Danika while on the run from the Russian mob runs into Tommy Donati from the Italian mob family. Tommy reluctantly decides to help her and the more he gets to know her the more he begins to "like" her. The chemistry runs deep with these two and watching the relationship unfold was interesting. The extra characters on both sides (her mom and grandmother and his brother and other mob associates) really helped bring this story to life.
CJ Mission and Maeve York did a wonderful job on the narration of this story. I listened to it all in one sitting.

Danika is a strong yet compassionate heroine, determined to reclaim her independence even as her life spirals into dangerous territory. Nico is the perfect grumpy counterpart: meticulous, controlled, and lethal, but with a softer side that only Danika can draw out. The neurodivergent representation in Nico’s compulsions and Danika’s own journey with hearing loss made both characters feel refreshingly authentic and layered.
Death’s Favor is a quick, gritty, and entertaining mafia romance with just the right balance of angst and heart. Jill Ramsower handles the darker elements with care while still delivering delicious tension, a slow burn romance, and thoughtful representation. The spice perfectly complements the plot without overtaking it, and the dual presence of the Russian and Italian mafia keeps the stakes high and the action moving.
The duet-style audiobook narration by CJ Mission and Maeve York is excellent—CJ’s Italian accent fits Nico beautifully, while Maeve brings Danika’s strength and vulnerability to life. If you love forced proximity, grumpy/sunshine dynamics, and a romance that thrives under fire, this one is for you.
