Publisher's Summary

What is the scariest thing you can think of?

For me, it was overdosing at 27 years old in my friend’s basement at the end of a decade-long battle against my addictions.

In the years leading up to this, I had been reckless towards not only the people around me, but myself and my body. I was addicted to sex, alcohol, food, and drugs.

I was a hundred pounds overweight. I underperformed at work and at home. I spent my days on a high; I was a nobody living in an empty body. I was killing myself, yet I could not stop. I seemed to enjoy dying...

My near-death experience woke me up to the realities on ground. I was one of the lucky ones; many people get killed or fail to live thanks to their addictions.

My personal and professional experience helping addicts for the last 20 years are combined in Death to Addiction, to teach you:

  • About the brain and how it gets addicted
  • Why addictions occur
  • Why you might be addicted to alcohol without knowing
  • How drugs harm you
  • How an eating addiction can grow
  • Why sex addiction is more than what happens in bed
  • The amazing benefits of healthy relationships
  • The two superpowers I used to end hundreds of people’s addictions
  • Why meditation and mindfulness are secret weapons for recovery
  • The number one surefire way to put death to your addiction
  • And so much more...

Putting death to my addictions by applying the strategies in this audiobook changed my life and will do the same for you.

Ask yourself: “What will my life look like 10 years from now if I don’t end this addiction today?”

Do you want to make a change in your life for the better? Do you want to learn how you can put an end to that addiction that’s been eating away at you daily?

Then get this audiobook now to learn more!

Incredible book

This is an incredible book, I work in recovery and I find this absolutely fascinating. Even for those of you not in recovery it makes so much sense. You don’t have to make it about substance abuse; it really addresses any type of addiction or negative behavior.

Extremely helpful

I have been in recovery from addiction(s) for more than 5 years... I found this book extremely helpful for my perspectives and my actions. He makes a crucial point... we substitute the false connection with alcohol, drugs, sex and material things for our true need... which is for real connection with our fellows and with our own higher power.

Very effective ideas

This book listens like a particularly good speaker meeting. Sometimes people gets lost in the weeds with his verbosity, but overall he has applied his considerable intellect to great effect in inviting a deep consideration of the spiritual life. I believe he has deepened and broadened my outlook with this book, and for that I’m grateful.

Very straightforward

I bought this as a gift for a friend who is in recovery and he said that he loved the book! I have listened bits and pieces of it, but never the whole thing, but from what I can tell, he shares his experience strength and hope in a very straightforward way. My friend could not stop raving about how great of a listen this book is.

Extremely insightful

Recently addiction hit me very close and it was like a knockout punch in the face. This book was extremely insightful and helpful and I could even see where I might have my own addictions. Looking to understand this disease more, I ended up understanding subconscious behaviours within myself.... Tell me what you're going to do about the storey, but it definitely gets me through a very dark.

Wonderful

Bought this for my daughter after seeing author interviewed on tv. Although I object to the coarse language and can only tolerate it a few minutes at a time, I get that the candor and directness of what he has to say probably makes a good deal of sense to an addict. The author has an extensive vocabulary beyond four letter words and a unique way of expressing himself - very articulate.

Helpful

The greatest lesson of this book is that we are all human, with the same flaws and loveliness. No sense pretending otherwise. There is community here. What a helpful, lovely book.

Awesome!

This book's personal stories will draw you further into that club, as it did for me. If you are not, his uncharacteristic humility and genuineness paired with how absolutely useful this book is may win you over. Get over soon with this audible.

Saved my life!

This book follows suit, seeming (so far) to be another honest, insightful, humorous, intelligent peek into what it means to be human... Or, i should say to be pure, unblemished Awareness playing out the human dance in our shared reality. Saved my life!

Got great help

This is exactly exactly the sort of person I need to be "talking" to. Or listening to, or reading--what have you. Having recovered from more serious addictions 30+ years ago, I now find myself addicting to shopping! Yikes!!! If you are addicted to ANYTHING, from shopping to narcotics, and we all have addictions (believe me), you should find this book beneficial.

Saved my life!!

I couldn't have found a better book to listen right now. As someone with an adult child in recovery, this book gave me new insight that affirms my decision earlier this year to regulary attend a 12 step group, not only to support my daughter, but to make deep changes in myself. Author points out that we are all on the addiction scale in some area of our lives. He urges doing inner work so that addictions of all kinds. . . . drug, alcohol, sex, food, gambling, even internet/phone.
