Publisher's summary

Richard Ainsworth's French B&B has been taken over by a production company shooting a historical film at the Château de Valençay. But everything grinds to a halt with the sudden passing of an actor under suspicious circumstances.

To get to the bottom of things, Valérie d'Orçay and Richard offer catering services to the hastily resumed production. There, they discover that the vanity, duplicity, and murder of an 18th-century French court is nothing compared to that of a 21st-century film set, with more heads yet to roll.

Dragged a bit

Seemed a tad long and overly involved. But worth a Re-read/listen 😀 I love Ian Moore as narrator! Fantastic accents.

I love Ian Moore’s books

Delightful story. Well written. I listen on Audible and Ian Moore’s narration is the best I’ve ever heard.
The stories are always clever and hilarious, made more so by the wacky variety of characters. They are endearing, funny and unique. I can’t wait to find out what they are up to next.

One of my favorite series now.

This series is getting better and better. I love the setting, characters and humor. The movie references and Richard’s inner monologues also make these books very entertaining.

Loving this series !!

I’ve listened to these first three books enough times to know which words are coming next. When do we get a new one to enjoy?

The Twist Got Me!

Somehow I saw almost all the pieces but still missed the twist. What fun! I love Richard as a POV character and the setting for this whole series is just lovely. I’ll definitely keep reading in this series.

Fantastic Fun

I loved book 1. I loved book 2. And I absolutely LOVED book 3!

It’s so much in Follet Valley. I really the dynamics between Richard & Valerie. Richard’s non-stop Film references always crack me up.

I also love that the author narrators his own book.

Another romp with Richard & Valerie

The story was well plotted. It kept me guessing until the end. The characters are likable and outrageous while still managing to be believable. This book seemed a little more serious in tone than the earlier books, which have some ridiculous, laugh-out-loud scenes that I missed in this one, but there are lots of chuckles here. Mr. Moore has a rare gift for writing comedy. We need Moore laughter in the world! I look forward to reading/listening to more hilarious mysteries about the doings of Richard, Valerie and the Follet Valley gang!
