Nice finally
If you have read all of the Sookie Stackhouse books, you will enjoy this short story that brings closure to all of your favorite characters. If you have not read all of the Sookie Stackhouse books, this will not make any sense.

Glad I read the revues so I could prepare
If you could sum up After Dead in three words, what would they be?
I'm really glad I read the 'bad' revues before getting this. I was able to go back and re-read all 13 books AGAIN so the characters would be fresh in my mind before getting this. It helped me to recall some of the less known characters that are the 'one liners' in this book. The main things I wanted to know was how things turned out for Jason, Sookie, Sam and Tara. I got what I wanted. <3 YAY!
Would you recommend After Dead to your friends? Why or why not?
For anyone who has been curious...yes - it does give closure!
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
It is short enough that it wasn't a problem to do! LOL

Make sure the characters from all of the books are fresh in your mind before getting this!

Not bad but ...
Would you try another book from Charlaine Harris and/or Johanna Parker?
Probably not but that's mainly because I've already listened to most of the Sookie Stackhouse series.
If you’ve listened to books by Charlaine Harris before, how does this one compare?
This book was written like an encyclopedia (ie each character being a topic) rather than a set of short stories. It was interesting to hear was happened next to the characters - the brief approach was suitable for some (ie Jane Boathouse) but didn't necessarily do justice to others (ie Eric).
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Johanna Parker is by far my preferred narrator for the Sookie Stackhouse stories - it just doesn't sound quiet right listening to some of the other narrators given that Johanna's narrated all of the novels.

Not what I expected or hoped for...
While I did like to hear what became of the characters, I was expecting actual stories. Not long ones of course, the audio is only 47 minutes long, but something... more. The story felt like a checklist of mostly one-liner character endings. And a majority of those characters I either hardly remembered, didn't remember, or just plain didn't give a fig about. Honestly this could have been added to the end of Dead Ever After and that be it.
All that said, I paid for the extra 47 minutes simply to know how my favorite characters ended up. Some of it good and heartwarming, and some sad and heartbreaking.

Awesome series
I listen to this series and LOVED 🥰 the story and narrator. I cried so hard in book 12 and 13. I laughed and was on the edge of my seat. You will not regret listening to them. FYI read the books BEFORE you watch the series on TV.

It is always great to know what happened in a story book world you've been following from the beginning. The fates of these characters are true to life in that some are hopeful and some a tragic and some get just what they deserve.
