Loved it

There's nothing like a good Sookie Stackhouse mystery. I am impressed that Charlaine Harris has managed to keep the story fresh and exciting. She always surprises me. I'm still interested in and excited about the inhabitants of Bon Temps, Louisiana.
Johanna Parker brings the entire story to life. I love the voices she gives to all of the characters, it adds another dimension to the on-going story. In my opinion, Johanna's reading of the Sookie Stackhouse books is better than reading them myself.

A great "Bridge" Book

I really disagree with other readers complaining about this book, I liked the idea of Claude actually having a more "human" side and trying to fit in a little more - Dermott being NOT a bad guy, I think Sookie being the Pack's Shaman was FANTASTIC, especially the the fact that Alcide finally came the terms with that fact that he had once hoped that they would love each other, I LOVED that Sookie gave Bill a "hook up" though, I see Eric becoming a better "man", Pam becoming a much more powerful figure - and some wonderful new villains in the mix (I dunno Alcide is going to have to reign that Jannele in I think!!!). Also, the political side reflects things that went on in our culture in the past - think of having to REGISTER all of the sudden say if you were "different" in some way- even if you were an American citizen, even if you had served your country THAT HAPPENED! IN OUR OWN COUNTRY!!!!

Can't wait for the next read!! Looking forward to it. POO ON YOU NAYSAYERS!!! I also love the fact that Jason is growing up too.

P.S, I also love that I can now enjoy the TV show on its own pretty much too, though here and there is a spoiler or two in the books.

best Sookie Stackhouse book i have read.lots of great twists and turns. it was a joy to read. loved it.

I absolutely love the series. I've read the books and listened to the stories time and again. at least once a year. the author and narrator work perfectly together to bring the story and characters together!
