Egyptian Fantasy!
Daughter Of The Sun by Laura Greenwood is #2 in the Forgotten Gods series.
Cursed and trapped for thousands of years, Sehkmet is finally free. She has only 1 plan with her freedom, to exact revenge on the one she believes to be responsible for cursing her.
I love the authors take on Egyptian mythology and have enjoyed each of these short fantasies!

Spicing up Mythology
This is a very fun story! It is a story loosely based on Egyptian Mythology. The wild Goddess of Vengeance, Sekhmet, is freed from a curse that trapped her inside the stone sphinx. Her rather Ra sent his servant with a spell that could conditionally free her. But after Sekhmet is freed she starts to learn that nothing is free and she has to decide what kind of Goddess she is going to be and what she is willing to give up for freedom and love. Ends on a great cliff-hanger!!
Another Laura Greenwood masterpiece! I have been pulled into another amazingly beautiful world that Laura created and I couldn't be happier about it!
This is the first story I have listened to by Sterling LeGrand-Carney, but she is amazing! I truly enjoyed this book, and I can't wait to start the next in the series!

A sweet story, but lacking in action
I love Egyptian mythology and therefore a chance to read a book that incorporates it was too good to pass up. I appreciate the authors diligence and research and loved her characterization of the gods and goddesses.
There is a nod to her other book but this is completely a stand alone.
Although the lack of action is understandable (and really the only way it could have gone), it still felt like a let down at the end. if there's a continuation I may be okay with the lack of confrontation (can't say more as I don't want to spoil the plot).

Another Fun Egyptian Tale
The story is very interesting and moves at a great pace. Although, it is even shorter than the previous book I listened to set in the Forgotten God’s Universe. I really enjoyed learning more about Egyptian Mythology. I like how well this author can write and how much detail she can weave in such short tales. This story is fun and creative and it was concluding before I realized it.
Narration was good and brought the story to life.
I easily listen to this story at one sitting and enjoyed every minute of it. It is an interesting and unique story. I’m looking forward to reading more books by this talented author.

Sekhmet has been trapped in the body of a sphinx for years as part of her curse. She is found and freed by one of her father's servants Fetket. Awesome!
I really enjoyed listening to the Daughter of the Sun audiobook! Although it was a little on the short side for my taste, it was still really interesting. I loved the whole Egyption motif. When I was younger, if you asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up, I would have said an archaeologist. I wanted to dig up bones and artifacts in Egypt. I so should have done that! So when I saw this book, I knew I would love it. And it was such a good little story. The more I read from Laura Greenwood, the more I love her. She has such an amazing creative mind. I'm jealous. lol. And the narrator was also awesome. I am officially a huge Laura Greenwood fan!

Great story with lots of Egyptian mythology. Bring in many goddess Sekhmet, Ma'at, and Bastet. After being awoken from her curse as the Sphinx by Fetket, Sekhmet sets off to find the truth of the curse and to also learn the truth of herself. Great story line, with a bit of romance thrown in. I just couldn't get into this one....
Sadly this book just didn't flow right for me. I found the writing style to be choppy and immature in nature. The whole story just didn't flow well. To top it off the narrator just really fell flat. I had to increase the speed quite a but just to get it to a normal sounding cadence. It sounded more like a teenager reading a story to a sibling than a professional narrator. I really wanted to enjoy this story but there were just too many things that caused it to fall flat for me.

Egyptian Mythology Short Story
Daughter of the Sun by Laura Greenwood is a Egyptian Mythology story that I listened to on audio narrated by Sterling LeGrand-Carney. This is the second book in the Forgotten Gods series and can be read as a stand-alone.
I absolutely love Laura’s books! This story does end on a bit of a cliffhanger so I am looking forward to jumping into the third book in the series Servant of Chaos.
Sterling did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.

Can be read as a standalone but part of a series
Sekhmet has had a long time to think about her actions but what if you're the goddess of vengeance. Are thousands of years long enough to see the errors of your ways? Sekhmet is trapped by an ancient curse when her time is finally up she must decide whether she can overcome her past. The reward may be greater than punishing the ones who wronged her.
I haven't read much Egyptian mythology and I really enjoyed this. Curses, romance and gods... I liked it. This was an audiobook and the narrator was really good. It's official, I'm calling it, I'm a fan of Laura Greenwood's books.

Story
The world of Faerie never disappeared: it merely went into hiding, continuing to exist parallel to our own. Secrecy is the key to Faerie’s survival—but no secret can be kept forever, and when the fae and mortal worlds collide, changelings are born. Half-human, half-fae, outsiders from birth, these second-class children of Faerie spend their lives fighting for the respect of their immortal relations.

Story
Edward Fasbender is a devil. He's my father's biggest rival. He takes what he wants, and he bows to no one. And now Edward Fasbender wants me. I didn't expect to want him back. Having him is not in the cards, not when a union with him would destroy my father. But that doesn't mean I can't play with him a bit. Except, I've never played against such a ruthless opponent. Edward is cold and vicious, and my blood has never run hotter. They say you should choose the devil you know, but I've always preferred long odds. Even if it'll get me slain.

Story
Kihrin is a bastard orphan who grew up on storybook tales of long-lost princes and grand quests. When he is claimed against his will as the long-lost son of a treasonous prince, Kihrin finds that being a long-lost prince isn't what the storybooks promised. He also discovers that the storybooks have lied about a lot of other things, too: dragons, demons, gods, prophecies, true love, and how the hero always wins. Then again, maybe he’s not the hero, for Kihrin is not destined to save the empire. He’s destined to destroy it.
