A New Fantasy World of Tree People

W.K. Greyling creates a new and fascinating world where a gentle people cherish and gain life from trees. We follow a young male (Walde) as he comes to terms with his father and powers. While a good book, it is only the first half of the story. Be prepared to get/buy the second book in the series, Battle in the Woodlands, for "the rest of the story." I liked this story and this new fantasy world and culture. But, I found myself wanting more descriptive detail. Thus, I say to the author, more descriptive adjectives and dependent clauses, please. Help us see, smell and enjoy your new worlds.

Stunning! What a unique find!

This was a shockingly great find. I have read many fantasy books and often find the same story retold. This is not the case. I enjoyed every part of it. very unique characters and storyline. Hints of magic and love with well developed characters. I am looking forward to the next book in this series. A must read!

OMG Loved it!!

I started this book and soon became hooked and, grab every minute I could to listen to this Story. I cannot wait to start the 2nd book, as the author did a wonderful job of world building. Narrator does a Great job with the characters voices and the storyline!! I highly recommend this book to all readers and listeners.

A story that you do not want to put down or for the story to finish. It draws you in in-such a way that you can visualise the story as it moves along.
Always enjoys books written by W.K.Greyling.
Good first book. Kept me interrested from being to end.

Loved it!

This book draws you in immediately with an interesting story that feels fresh. At no point could I predict where the story would be going next, which I appreciate because it makes you really enjoy the journey. The descriptions were enough to allow the reader to see the world without being so drawn out that they were boring. Overall, I have really enjoyed everything I’ve read from this author and I can’t wait to see where this story is going next!

Very good book

This is a very good book in the start of this series. Not quite as good as the authors other books but still a great story line & character development. The only real drawback is the narration. There are so many mouth noises that it is distraction & lessens the overall quality.

Fantastic

W. K. Grayling has done it again. Brilliant and engaging story that bring you right into the world she created. Arthur Morey was a great narrator and did an excellent performance. I recommend this Audiobook.

Great Story

I enjoyed the book and narrators voice. He really brought the story to life. I’m excited to see what happens in the next book.

Author W.K. Greyling has done it again! This is a great beginning to a new series. The world of tree living is so well written that I could imagine being there. It is a coming of age story and kept my interest all the way through.

Wonderful fantasy story!!

This was truly a wonderful fantasy story! It really kept me hooked. You are genuinely intrigued about Walde's story and what happens. The narration was also perfect for this book. At first I was a little worried the narrators voice might put me to sleep because it was so calming, but he does a great job of keeping you listening! Highly reccomend!
