Hmmmm

It started out really well. The narrator was really good. But the story got drawn out and very confusing. I’m kind of glad I did the audio version. Not sure I would have finished it on my own.

excellent performance by narrator

i didn't know what I was getting into but I can't hate on a good story. it was entertaining, sacrilegious, and woke. It wasn't at all what I expected and it was intriguing.

Great Concept

Loved the concept of this book so much! The narrator had a super dream voice and I adore him! Will definitely be getting more books from this author.

A thinker

I liked it, it’s for a very American Gods feel to me. Similar writing and very thought provoking.

Fun story

I enjoyed the characters and the story. Kept me interested and entertained the entire time.

Couldn’t finish

While the premise sounded great, the story itself was a disappointment. For about four hours I’ve been listening to this group of characters sit around a table talking, and listening to the history of this love story between two characters that the author probably wants us to care a lot about. Unfortunately after listening for over 6 hours I don’t care about any of the characters, and the premise of the story has become lost in a bunch of jargon of shallow drama that happened a long time ago and has no basis in the current story. Not sure if the book will ever get back to the plot it mentioned having on the back cover, but I’m not sure I can stand listening to any more of it.

Many characters

There are a lot of characters, and there isn’t a clear indication of who is speaking. The narrator could do more voices or accents or something to make it clear, as sometimes it feels like one person is speaking to himself. There’s no “fox said” or anything to indicate who we are listening to. The females sound the same. So when ten people are in a room and speaking you can’t tell that it’s ten different people. I’m sure the physical book would be better.

A complete original

I loved this book!! I really enjoyed how it is written and I can’t wait to read more from Olivie.
The narrator wasnt my favorite, but he did a great job distinguishing between characters. And some characters weren’t meant to be liked so I think the narrator overall made good choices on the different characters.

Excellent Story+ Cast of Characters!

Loved the supernatural cast of characters and the very human relationships between so many. Great ensemble of characters and great audio performance to being it to life.

Almost stopped

I had a hard time making myself push through this book. The sustained scenes of anger, angst, shouting, and nastiness were very hard to take. The story has unusual characters and a unique plot idea, Just be sure you’re paying attention because it’s easy to get lost in them.
