Get ready for an electrifying return to the world of high-stakes adventure and undeniable romance in this revamped edition containing more than twenty-five thousand words of new content that dives into what happened before the previous edition’s first chapter. For devoted fans, it's a chance to rediscover the tale as it was meant to be. And if you're a newcomer, buckle up for an unforgettable rollercoaster ride.

Born one of the Powered in a world starving for superhuman defenders, Boyd is both blessed and cursed—blessed in that he was born Powered, possessing superpowers on a world in desperate need of each Hero able to defend humanity from a hostile planet, but cursed in that he is one of the Changed. The Changed are those Powered who were transformed into creatures from long-dead Old Earth’s myths and legends. Changed have the unfortunate tendency to behave exactly as they appear. So when the young Boyd, who had always aspired to be a Hero, Changed into a demon during puberty, his aspirations turned to dust. Despite what seemed like an insurmountable challenge, he was shaken but remained unbroken.

Even as his dreams of heroism seem crushed, Boyd clings to hope, resilient in the face of adversity. With steely resolve, he channels his energy into honing his skills, aspiring to rise above his Changed nature. Charged with protecting walled cities from hostile superpowered threats, he remains committed to The Authority's mission on the newly settled planet – a haven born from Earth's ruins.

But destiny isn't finished toying with Boyd. Love's initial spark reveals a startling truth – he's an Enhancer, wielding a power that demands a heavy toll. Grappling with a mentor's spiteful influence, Boyd finds his path strewn with insurmountable challenges. Faced with the impossible, he must confront the monstrous demands thrust upon him, even if it means breaking the promises he once held sacred. Can Boyd reconcile his newfound mission with his unwavering principles, or will the clash lead to a transformation he can't escape?

MC let's Silver lead him around on a leash and is virtually incapable of standing up for himself. He regenerates from any injury, except when she cut his balls off and put them in her purse for safe keeping. She lies to him, manipulates him, and keeps secrets, and despite all this he can't stay angry at her or do more than make token grumbles that she laughs off. His entire harem thinks they know what's best for him and gang up so it's two, three or even four against one. MC comes across like a beta cuck. Now, there ARE mitigating reasons for some of this behavior, but it goes so far past "acceptable" with zero repercussions that I'm getting upset reading. I'll be dropping this and returning books 4 and 5.

MC too beta

so I usually don't do reviews but I am reviewing this just to warn people about this series.

the series itself is good but that comes with a few caveats. the narration is excellent apart from the male mc sounding like Ron Swanson.

the only issue I have is how SLOW the books are. The amount of times I've skipped over complete chapters because the characters are just sitting around talking in circles about their feelings is insane. I just recently listened to this book for 5 chapters. and the entire time? they were eating dinner and talking! 5 chapters!

I like the series and will likely finish it. but it forces me to click off to something else every couple of hours to get a mental break.

Alot of talking

It starts a little slow in the first few books. After that its really picks up and has me hooked. This was unexpectedly fantastic and I can wait for the end, while ruing it at the same time. If there was more than a 5 star option I would give it that!

This Series is fantastic!!

One of My Favorite series

the characters and development are believable and you can sympathize with them... as much as you can sympathize with superheros that is. The narrators did amazing and they always felt like they played off each other nice which meant the author did great in writing the characters aswell. I'm looking forward to books 5 and 6 with these narrators

They feel real
