Steve doesn’t care who he was. He knows more than enough to realize it doesn’t matter at all. Now living in what had once been the Creeplands and maintaining a thriving farm there, they are under constant siege from the Creep itself. It's still better than life in Lamals. And that’s just how it is. After taking over the Citadel, removing Lynn from her place of power, stopping the Creep’s advance, and starting to take over part of the Creeplands, he was certainly making a difference for himself, humans, and men everywhere.

Story
Sebastian Frost was a man with an interesting reputation. He’d killed 12 giants, eight heroes, a duke, and even a prince. But nobody ever talked about any of that. All they talked about was the deviant, disgusting, detestable Herald of Shalia that shamelessly laid with elves. That was because in the strange world based on game mechanics Frost found himself in, laying with elves was somehow treated like laying with animals. Naturally, they weren’t calling him Herald Frost the giant killer....

Everywhere they went, they ran into trouble. First had been bandits, which actually proved to be fortuitous, with Ryann Cullin entering Sean’s service after that attack. Alvin had a rough week. Thrown into a digital death game, Apocalypse Gates, with only his wits and a less than helpful AI handler, Alvin's prospects for survival looked bleak. Managing not only to survive but to thrive, he helped build a settlement of survivors in Green River, Utah. Along the way he met the very sexy and broken Gothy. He's taken on the undead, mutated bugs and animals and the worst possible enemy - other people - and triumphed. Nothing looked like it would be a major problem, except for the flight of dragons.

Story
Warner spent his days like almost anyone else. He got up, went to work, answered phone calls in a call center, went home, spent time with his daughter, and went to sleep. Only to repeat the pattern over and over and over. Life was as mundane as anyone could ever fear it to be. Today was the day that all that would change. On this day, his daughter Maya would be nearly fatally injured, plunging Warner into a world of paranormal creatures, monsters, and magic he’d never known existed. The only consolation is that he discovers he’s not quite human, either.

Publisher's Summary
The Path to Peace brought them to the gates of the old city. Now Alburet and his friends will need to find their way into the vaults under the city. They will need to bypass the undead and the cultists that roam the city to even find those tunnels, and that’s only the start of the troubles they will face.
Traitors to Stormguard are uncovered, and the King will have to be told. That can only happen after they deal with the two quests that have brought them this far. Vladimir Dracon hopes to put his brother Dimitry to rest, slaying the one known as the Dragon Eater, while Sir Cody Carter has come to make sure the Urn of Souls is destroyed so it doesn’t fall into Stein’s hands.
What happens under Peace will tilt the balance of what is to come: either in favor of the Crown of Stormguard, or for Stein and his cultists.
Welcome back to Alpha World.

I like this book
For me the whole series has been good. Negative reviews are not wrong, but the psychological stuff plays into the AI medical use of the game which is in other stories I’ve listen to. Next this book finally had less of the love love stuff. In fairness the previous books the repetition of love and insecurity was to much, the rest of the story told has been solid.

it's gotten worse
it's almost as though the writer doesn't remember what rules he's set. makes it so the main characters imps can only be halved by fire protection, and can summon 50+ imps. but there's times that does massive damage and times when it's fully negated. the main characters leveled quickly or so we were told due to a quest from the last book. yet it seems every character leveled up just as quickly, with NO explanation as to how as well as going back against the "this will take months" add in that the stats that are given ad nauseam to the main character are utterly meaningless. his "suit" should have him the equal to everyone in their given area of expertise. But it's just not the case. the main character is weak when the writer wants to add a MacGuffin, and overly strong when the writer want a hero. I won't be following any further. really feel bad for the narrator is the only part that has kept me through the last book and a half.

I need the next book now!!!!
I've really loved this series, but boy what a cliff hanger to leave this one on. I can't wait for Alpha World 8. Sad to hear it'll be the last in the series and that Delta World is a way off yet. The narration is great and has been all the way through with different characters able to be determined by voice alone. Pacing is good and a great continuation of the story. I can't wait till AW8 book gets released and almost certainly not until the Audio book gets released sometime after that.

The writing style of this part of the series is more in keeping with the first few books, which is great in my opinion. Less focus on grooming fluff and more focus on the actual alpha world storyline. Nice cliff hanger. Can’t wait for the next instalment... 5/5
