Publisher's summary

One night will never be enough.

We made a pact. One night.

No strings.
No attachments.
No numbers exchanged.

I caved and gave Harrison Decker my number anyway. He just chose not to use it.

Four years later, his job brings him back into my world looking more handsome than ever and now making an effort to befriend me. Is my heart willing to take another chance on that man?

Call me crazy or crazy in love. Either way, I’m not falling for him. Again.

A 5 STAR SWEET SECOND-CHANCE

So, Natalie and Nick have found their happy ever after in the previous book (Never Got Over You) and now it’s their best friends Harrison and Tatum’s story who also met on the same night.. but their road would take over four years to develop. And you just know when there’s a pact of ‘no strings’ it’s going to be a delicious stirring of emotions as chemistry awakening desire and a skilled author lets Fate and Destiny do the rest. But the challenges of distance.. walls.. insecurities.. self-doubt and something big are hurdles to the romance that will make.. or break their relationship.

Worth a credit? Yes this was a very enjoyable dual POV listen that had swoons, sex, sweet sentiments and five star narration.

This was a Bust

Simply put, the female lead, Tatum, is unlikeable. She is self-absorbed, overly emotional, insecure, unnecessarily jealous and irrational. Every time I though she was “getting better,” she would say or do something stupid. I liked the hero, Harrison, considerably more but even he started to frustrate me and I didn’t like some of his choices or the way he handled things toward the end. I wanted to smack him around with a specially made stupid stick just for him! I don’t expect storybook characters to be my clones, think like me, act like me. But sometimes a character can be particularly exasperating, similar to people in real life 🤪 Makes for a less enjoyable read. This is my least favorite of the books I’ve read by this author. I mainly kept listening because…Jacob Morgan. The ending was sweet but I was pretty much checked out at that point. Do not recommend.

Annoying heroine alert

I saw the reviews about the insecure female lead and thought it can’t be that bad… so I gave it shot (and mostly because of Jacob Morgan). But yeah, she was really annoying and kept leaping to judgements when she should have known better. I’m not sure why Harrison would want someone like Tatum. I made it to the end which is why it got 2 stars and Jacob’s narration always makes things better. But a story where you find the main character annoying and could really care less if she gets her HEA is not a good one.

I can’t get through it

I am a big believer if you don’t have anything nice to say then don’t say anything at all but I have to comment on this one. I made it almost through 5 chapters and I am so stressed out because of the female character in this book. She is so frustrating and makes zero sense. I don’t want to spoil anything so I will just say that there is no way I can even listen to another minute because I’m worried how much more irritated she will make me. (I even stopped and came back to it a few times just in case it was me and not the audio book).

Cute

Cute quick read, like able characters. Great narration. A great after read to cure any book hangovers. Great read after reading long or darker books. Both characters were totally different from the norm, no back and forth, great supporting characters with short bits of history In between to give a great backstory. Great job.

The Female Soul Revealed

In the intimate details of the story, one finds the soul of the woman revealing itself slowly, surely, and irresistibly. Like an unstoppable avalanche. The mystery is found deep inside the revelation. The delightful touches, the painful experiences, and the lovely moments in this beautifully painted literary portrait shine the light on the female soul revealed.

She's a Mess

What can I say but Tatum is a mess. She's all over the place, Maybe she could have some redeeming qualities had she gotten counseling and then maybe there's hope for a happy ending. I see divorce in the horizon because there's no communication between the two. She jumps to conclusions, ghosts him for weeks and then comes around to saying she's sorry, as if all is great and there's no need for communication. Not a sustainable relationship and I don't buy the love they say they have for each other.

What is going on with the h?

First of all, I bought this because of Jacob Morgan. He is worth it no matter the story. CJ Bloom did a great job, too.
The writing is good, but the female character is crazy—like legit picking fights because of imaginary stuff. The H should run. He spends most of the book confused, as did I as the reader.
