Hijackers ditch an airliner into the remote Canadian wilderness, and 17-year-old Kyle Reynolds, along with the rest of St. Mark's award-winning jazz band, somehow, survives the crash. Kyle escapes into the wild with Misty, the girl of his daydreams, only to find out the hijackers will stop at nothing to find her.
Fighting a relentless pack of terrorists and the unforgiving wilderness, Kyle is stunned to discover why Misty is the prize the terrorists are after, and even more shocked to find his feelings for Misty are so deep that he is willing to do anything to protect her...even die to keep her safe.

The author really puts the scenes in your head, and the feelings of Kyle, the protagonist, in your soul. You feel the chill of hypothermia creep into the telling as teeth chatter durring dialog, you get to know what it is to face down your own mortality in one of the harshest wildernesses in North America.
I am reminded of youthful ideas of heroism and teenage angst from a christian perspective. The story is a thriller, an adventure, and a romance. It is sprinkled with real world kernels of true hard earned wisdom. It does not force biblical values on you, but does go into those values and the reasons for them...
And it does leaving you hanging hard at the end.
End of book one, the end.
This is the very best reason an author should narrate their own work.
