Quick, fun, listen

Just a day in the life of District 3s newest community constituent liaison. What could go wrong? Fun, short story with a happy ending and plenty of John Scalzi’s imagination and hi-jinx. Love his perspective and unique characters.

Just right

Amber Benson is quite talented. Loved all the voices. This was typical Scalzi and I'll listen to it many times.

humorous story, awesome narator.

Scalzi does it again with an excellent story. It us a bit typical of the human starting a job in a place with non humans, but still fun. it is satisfying how things pull together. Amber Benson does excellent well voiced naration. there are no issues telling who is who.

Great story for driving to work

Another great Scalzi short. I rarely get any of his books that I do t love. (Well, just the one really.). The story of a woman just trying to do her best at her job rings a bit true - even if there’s no alien toy shops in my district.

Quirky in a good way.

Fun and amusing for car listening. Regular‘people’ at work doing their best and getting along.

I enjoyed every minute and was sorry when it ended. I need to know what other adventure the Third District Constituent Services team gets up to! I loved the humor and diversity.

Interesting story and the narrator brings the characters to life. Very enjoyable even though it is slightly predictable.

wonderful

This delightful story by John Scalzi really made my day. It’s a pleasure to read from beginning to end. The third district is the only place in Paris where aliens (and there are so very many kinds of aliens) greatly outnumber humans. Our heroine, Ashley, is a human who has taken a job as a community liaison for the Third District. That means that she spends her day taking complaints from aliens and trying to figure out how to resolve them. Most of those complaints are wonderfully bizarre and the reader will quickly suspect that they are all connected in an intricate sort of way. Therefore, you know right from the beginning that too much noise from a festival, alien hornets, sewer problems, a missing chicken, and more are all going to be tied together by the end. But oh, the journey to get there. This one is fun from start to finish as Scalzi introduces a rich cast of true characters and the unusually level-headed community liaison who has to make certain her city isn’t destroyed.

Hope they turn this into a whole series

The story was lighthearted, clever, and full of fun. There’s an entire world here to expand upon and investigate.
