Gentle and more effective

Understanding the development of my children's brains was eye-opening. It helped me see that their behavior is often a result of their stage of development. Armed with this knowledge, I learned how to tailor my expectations and responses accordingly, creating an environment that nurtures their growth and resilience. The gentle discipline strategies outlined in the book are really helpful too.

Helpful Concept

This is an excellent recording that every new parent ought to have in their collection. The author offers insightful advice from her life experiences and approaches parenting with a level head and a compassionate spirit.
The fact that this book places such great emphasis on assisting parents in working through their own difficulties is something that I really appreciate. Doing so makes it possible to become the kinds of parents that we all aspire to be. I believe that we all want to have a deep bond with our children, and we also want to have patience with them and treat them with respect; yet, anxiety and irritation can get in the way. We are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to learn how to handle our own problems first and then to direct our children toward being courteous and well-behaved.

Resonated with me so much!

As a father who is always on the lookout for the best strategies to help raise my own son, I cannot recommend "Connection B4 Correction" enough! This audiobook is filled with practical advice that is easy to implement and has already made a world of difference in my relationship with my son.

One of the highlights of this audiobook is the emphasis it places on building a strong connection with your child before focusing on correcting their behavior. This was a game-changer for me, as I often found myself getting frustrated and reacting based on my emotions. By taking the time to connect with my child and build trust, I have seen a noticeable improvement in his behavior and our communication.

The narrator was also a pleasure to listen to and made the experience even more enjoyable. I particularly appreciated the real-life examples and anecdotes that were shared throughout the book, which made it easy to relate to and apply the strategies to my own life.

Overall, "Connection B4 Correction" is a must-listen for any parent looking to build a strong bond with their child and create a nurturing and supportive environment for them to grow and thrive.

Bond First & Correct Children Later

Connection B4 Correction is a strategic approach to parenting from the author's perspective in sharing her own experiences, making this more personable for the listener. The examples and strategies are clear and easy to follow. Parents can feel comfortable that they are not starting out taking the blame, but neither are the children. The approach is more holistic and caring, which encourages open communication. An authoritarian style comes across as closed communication for the child, resulting in anger for both. However, many households have these experiences. I highly recommend this audiobook for parenting children the right way to build a relationship before disciplining them. Otherwise, not only will children talk back to their parents, they could also do the opposite and become quiet (shut down and stop talking) by internalizing their feelings, which can cause unhealthy consequences.

Moving and practical book for parents!

What a great book! I was really touched by the author's vulnerability in using her own identified parenting mistakes as the very first examples of why she wrote this book. We are all doing the best that we can with what we are taught by our own parents, but stuff gets passed down that isn't always great for the next generation. The author did a great job of not only providing specific examples of what different things look and sound like, she also included a chapter on the brain's development, which really helps to take the emotions and personal beliefs out of things by clearly explaining exactly is happening to our kids' brains during their development, and how we as parents make such an impact. ALSO... I thought that the use of putting yourself in the child's shoes was very effective in the different examples.

This book really helps to bring empathy to our children, as well as to ourselves, but most importantly, it lets parents know that their mistakes don't define them and that there is always room for repair through self-awareness and action.
