Publisher's summary

Workaholic Detective Aiden Carlisle isn't looking for love - and certainly not at the law-enforcement seminar she reluctantly agreed to attend. But the first lecturer is not at all what she expected.

Psychologist Dawn Kinsley has just found her place in life. After a failed relationship with a police officer, she has sworn never to get involved with another cop again, but she feels a connection to Aiden from the very first moment.

Can Aiden keep herself from crossing the line when a brutal crime threatens to keep them apart before they've even gotten together?

Contains mature themes.

Great Character + Relationship Building

Very genuine and realistic love story. I have yet to find a lesbian author that puts as much effort into character development as Jae does. I have become obsessed ever since discovering her and have read almost 5 of her books now in two weeks.

So Good!

The Christmas Day Scenario Was Amazing 👏🏻 I Was Smiling The Entire Time! Of Course When You Have Abby Craden As The Narrator Of Course It's Gonna Be Awesome 😁

Intense perspective

Story shared such intense but real emotions and perspectives. The strength to not be defined as only a victim was eye opening.

Intense

This was definitely an intense book that could be majorly triggering to some. It depicts rape and the path to healing afterwards. It was good to see the Dawn and Aiden’s beginning though.

A must-read!

This story was amazing & the narration was absolutely perfect. The story includes elements of sexual assault but beautifully illustrates the healing as well. It’s like a cop story & romance all in one. I’m not talented enough to write a review that does this story justice but I can assure you that you won’t be able to put this down.

Amazing

This is the second book of Jae's that I have "read", and both are special in their own way. While there was a bit of contrivance during the first half to keep the two protagonists dancing around each other about the eponymous conflict of interest, it was within the bounds of suspension of disbelief for a great story. The characters jump out at you and are so deep. The gentleness of the relationship between the two lovers sings to me as a survivor as well as one who loves an asexual. If you want real people having real relationships, this book is one for you. And the narration was fantastic!
