Lewis Black is an Emmy and Grammy Award-winning comedian and political satirist known for his regular appearances on The Daily Show, HBO and Comedy Central. He is also a voice actor for animated films – most recently as “Anger” in Pixar’s Academy Award-winning feature, Inside Out. He has written three best-selling books and more than 40 plays. Over a million followers connect with Lewis on social media every day.
"I could not be more thrilled that The Rant is Due has found a home at Audible,” said Lewis Black. “A new audience will hear the rants of their fellow citizens, and my two cents as well. It will not change your life but it will be a lot of fun. And if it’s not a lot of fun, it will piss you off and that’s a really good time in my book."
The Rant is Due is a premium, original Audible Comedy series. Listeners can find additional information about the show, latest episodes, and submit their own Lewis Black rants, at Audible.com/lewisblack.

A bad best man’s speech can ruin a wedding. Why do we plan every detail of a perfect day and then give the groom’s idiot best friend five minutes of total power? Enter Nate (Glen Powell), a speechwriter-for-hire who helps people write incredible best man speeches. To keep the best man from embarrassing himself (and the newlyweds), Nate uses his list of don’ts: Don’t mention the exes, don’t be rated R, and don’t bum everyone out. Nate’s system never fails. That is, until he meets Dan (Nicholas Braun).

Story
Alice's journey begins as all good journeys do: hitting on the sales guy at REI. After a tumultuous breakup, a quick career transition, family upheaval, and a sobriety journey that didn't fix her life quite as much as she expected it to, Alice decides that the only way to solve all her problems is to hike the Pacific Crest Trail. But as she begins preparing for the months-long quest, she realizes the answers she's seeking might not be on top of a snow-covered mountain. Especially since she just learned there was snow in California.

Traumatized by the bombing of Dresden at the time he had been imprisoned, Pilgrim drifts through all events and history, sometimes deeply implicated, sometimes a witness. He is surrounded by Vonnegut's usual large cast of continuing characters (notably here the hack science fiction writer Kilgore Trout and the alien Tralfamadorians, who oversee his life and remind him constantly that there is no causation, no order, no motive to existence).

I had to listen to this twice -
If you could sum up The Rant is Due in three words, what would they be?
Hysterical
Irreverent
Wonderful
What did you like best about this story?
It is not for the faint of heart with F-Bombs be warned. Season two has a rant about three hairs in the sink that I had to share with everyone in my office. If you need a laugh and are looking for a quick fix - the 15 min podcasts are the best. I will never look at pickles the same and he is genius.
Have you listened to any of the narrator’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I love Lewis Black. He is hystical and this is right in line with what I expect from him
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
OMG - I listened to this twice in one sitting - Plus forwarded specific episodes to everyone -

Rant therapy=0$ Satisfaction=priceless
I was looking for something to lift me out of the dark mood my current audiobook has put me in. I need to learn better balance it’s true. I like Lewis Black, but never heard this rant is due stuff. wish i would have listened sooner. So, it’s free right now, that’s good, and it makes me happy. I love rants, which usually only occur in my head as i nod to people and act like i’m listening. These people are usually my kids, and they are usually fighting. Half of me listens, the other half has earbuds in and is actively avoiding reality. Thanks Lewis for making this bearable.
