Cora and Ivan

This is the start of a new Pushkin Bratva series and tells Ivan Pushkin's story. He is heir to the Bratva, his father, Otets is still Pakhan although Ivan has taken over much of the running of the Bratva. Ivan has struck a deal with his father, he's promised his father that he will marry a suitable woman, if Otets allows his sister, Anya marry Lev - a Bratva soldier whom his father considers beneath her status. When Ivan marries his father will formally step down.

Cordelia St. Clair aka Cora left home to work as a waitress after her stepfather tried to force her to marry Mikhail Sokolov, an obnoxious man who gives her the creeps. Since leaving home and getting a job she has made two friends who also work as waitresses at a dive called Quintano’s Jorden and Francia Delacour. Cora is a very complex character with an equally complex past but her present life isn’t any better. But then she has a wardrobe malfunction and meets a sexy hot guy. But things are set to go downhill even more in this amazing hot mafia read.

Ivan and Cora share an incredible connection, their chemistry is palpable and hot, and the sex between them is incendiary, especially when their engagement/marriage is supposed to be fake. I loved Ivan for the strength of loyalty he feels towards his sister, his second and Cora. I love how possessive and protective he is. On the whole, I liked Cora but felt she should have been more honest with Ivan about her past, if she had he could perhaps have been better prepared. The storyline is full of suspense, conflict, intrigue, action, drama and romance, the characters are well-drawn and interesting.

The surprise ending means I can't wait to listen to the next book.

I had previously read this book but listening to it narrated by Hayden Hall and Walker Williams lifted an incredible story to a much higher level as all the characters were brought to life beautifully by these two talented actors.

This book was full of unexpected twists & turns that kept me on the edge until the amazing cliffhanger!!! I jumped to purchase the next book in this series. Highly recommend this author!

I knew it!!

I knew from the beginning that fruend of Cora's was rotten!!! Alot of thi is didn't add up and Ivan was not who people think! Overall good read and steamy!!

The end

Having a cliffhanger is an immediate turn off it’s a waste of what could have been a good store as you used it only to continue into another.

This book is so good! I wish the second book was available or coming very soon, alas it’s not going to be soon 😢

The characters and relationship are fantastic! The writing is stellar, but of course! It’s Nicole Fox! The narrators did a great job too!
